It's Monday, What Are You Reading? ~ June 3

It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

Read Last Week:

I totally didn't read the two books I had planned on. Instead, I read these:

The Land of Mango Sunsets by Dorothea Benton Frank: I had checked out a complete listing of Frank's books, and realized I had missed a few. I am working on fixing that, and this took care of one.

Crazy Enough by Storm Large: I won this many months ago from Jennifer at The Relentless Reader. I had put it in a pile on my desk, and finally pulled it out to read. And I freaking loved it.

We also had book club on Thursday, I will be posting my blog about it soon!

Reading This Week:

Seasons of the Sacred Earth by Cliff Seruntine: This is taking me some time to read.

Ladies' Night by Mary Kay Andrews: I have this pre-ordered through Amazon and I can't wait to get it!

Eating Kimchi and Nodding Politely by Alex Clermont: Anything with food stuffs in the title and you have me.

Detroit Magpies ..I also started working on another blog, in collaboration with my friend Jill. Its about our lives, about Detroit, about whatever. I hope you will check it out!

  1. I can't wait to read the new Mary Kay Andrews book! I'm on the waiting list for it at my library. I loved her last one, Spring Fever.

I want to try Dorothea Benton Frank's books this summer. I have been curious about her books for awhile and want to read more about the Lowcountry.

    1. I think Frank's dialogue could be a little better, but I love everything else, I think it is just the atmosphere of her books. :)

    1. Omg!! I was both repelled and sympathetic. I really wanted her to have a win though.

  3. I'm with you on food in the title so Eating Kimchi and Nodding Politely appeals to me greatly. :-)

    1. Lol - I have a feeling I am going to have to find a version of vegetarian kimchi by the end of the book so I can try it.

  5. Oooh those look like great books. I'm currently reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and Forever in Blue by Ann Brashares.

    1. Oo Brave New World! I should reread that one day, I always confuse it in my head with 1984. I love the Ann Brashares books.

  6. I don't know why, but I love Southern books. I'm so not Southern, so maybe it's because it's such a different culture than what I'm used to?

    1. I think that is why I love them so much too! I am in love with the south, it is where I want to take every vacation much to the chagrin of my husband. ;)

    1. I didn't really like Biscuit Witch, but on goodreads a lot of people did. I could just be weird. Lol. But I love Andrews! I am sad I had to work today and couldn't immediately start reading.

  10. I remember the Sweet Valley books. Still need to read Confidential just to see where they all end up but I heard in completely dismisses the University books so I have not been in a hurry to read it. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
