It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

It's Monday What Are You Reading is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, where we share what we are reading and see what others are reading as well.

Read Last Week:

I was a little flighty when it came to reading last week; I couldn't stay focused on anything and just wanted to skip around, like a butterfly flitting around in a garden. I ended up finishing these two.

The Bookstore by Deborah Meyler: I loved this Netgalley book, I can't wait to post my review.

Fever by Mary Beth Keane:  I couldn't stop reading this book. So good! Review here.

Reading This Week:

The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare:  Reading for Sheila's Banned Book Week. I can't wait, it's one of my favorite events. I will be having a giveway, so stay tuned!

Moonrise by Cassandra King: I won this from Librarything, and it was the one book I really wanted! I love the story Rebecca, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. I am excited to see how this is all put together into a book.

Touch Not the Cat by Mary Stewart: I love Mary Stewart! I was so excited when I read that Gudrun's Tights was hosting a Mary Stewart week. I am reading Touch Not the Cat as part of the event.

  1. I didn't realize that The Witch of Blackbird Pond was on the Banned Books List. It was required reading at my school and I loved it.

I want to read The Bookstore and I'm glad to know that you liked it. I am pretty sure I ordered it for my library so I should get to read it at some point.

I have weeks when I can't commit to reading a book and go back and forth between a few. It drives me nuts. I hope you have a good reading week!

    1. I know, that is so weird, right! The principal where I work saw I was reading it, and told me she read it to her fifth graders every year, so it is odd to think it has been challenged. All that "witchcraft" you know.

I did like it! I had some issues with the main character, but I still enjoyed the book. :)

Yes, it was making me crazy! I just wanted to be able to sit down and read and read, but I couldn't. :(

  2. When I see some of the books that have been banned I just...I don't even know! Ack. My youngest read The Witch of Blackbird pond a year ago. Maybe two? Anyway, she adored it :)

I've been WAY behind on reading blogs. I didn't know you reviewed Fever. I have to go see what you thought!

    Have a great week E!

    1. I know, it is mind blowing!! Everything is so controversial these days. :(

You must be a busy girl~ I kept checking back to see if you had posted any reviews, and was surprised you were AWOL! But if anyone deserves time off from the blog world, its you!

Thanks, hope yours is great too! :)

  3. I have never read The Witch of Blackbird Pond and since it's a Newbery winner, it's on my reading bucket list. I may read that one next week for banned book week, too. :)

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
