Weekly Wrap Up and It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, that is guaranteed to add to your reading list.

Week in Review:

It's been a crazy week, as I am sure it must have been for a lot of you out there! When I wasn't running around all crazy like, I was mostly falling asleep on the couch early in the evening.  The hubs and I did watch a few holiday movies before I crashed, so that was fun. We also made sure to have a little quiet together time Saturday, and took a ride around Belle Isle. We stopped in at the Belle Isle Nature Zoo because I love to watch the birds, and while we were there got to feed the albino fallow deer!

I also entered a contest hosted by author Christopher Golden, and won! My giant box of books came Saturday, I am super excited!

Reading this Week:

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens: With a little more downtime in the next few days, I am sure I will finish this short story. I did start it and I am in love.

Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel: If I manage to finish A Christmas Carol, I plan on starting Station Eleven. I have heard good things!

  1. Oh what fun to win that whole stack of books! I will look up that author now-- he is a new one to me and I'm always on the lookout for new-to-me authors. Try to rest up and enjoy your Christmas. Hope you get some reading done this week.

    1. He seems to be mainly a horror writer. I read Snowblind at the beginning of the year and I loved it!! It was so good! I can only hope the rest of his work is as well. Thanks Rita! I do plan on taking this week a little easier and slower. :)

  3. It has been crazy, with the holiday approaching so fast. Good grief. It's going to be over before we know it. It's nice to find a little downtime amidst all the holiday craziness. Hope you have a merry Christmas!

    1. Every year I say I am going to take the holiday season slower, but it never happens somehow. I think I did manage to slow it down a tad this year, mainly due to the fact that I literally can't do as much without being tired this time around. It was nice to drive around Belle Isle and just take it easy for an hour or two. :) Have a great Christmas as well!

  4. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! I loved A Christmas Carol and I might reread that soon. I also want to read Station Eleven though it isn't my usual kind of book. I have read so many positive reviews of it.

    1. Thanks Christina! It's not my thing either, but so many bloggers I respect have loved it, so I am going to give it a whirl. :) I think it helps it takes place in my area!

  5. What a lovely unexpected Christmas gift; winning the stack of books.

I'm hoping to get round to reading A Christmas Carol soon, it is a reread though so not essential... I just like reading it yearly.
    Merry Christmas, Erin!

    1. Thanks Jade! I can't believe I have never read it before. I think I was intimidated by it being written by Charles Dickens! :) Merry Christmas!

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
