It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

It was a beautiful week, even the rainy days. We had a great time at the orchard and cider mill on Saturday and then had a day of getting stuff done around the house on Sunday. Not quite as fun, but it's nice to check off some boxes. Plus, Billy made homemade apple butter which is delicious!

I love Halloween, and I have so many plans, thanks to Pinterest. I think this week we are going to finally try to get to decorating outside. We are aiming for not too scary, just a giant spider farm...

Read Last Week:

The Perfect Girl by Gilly MacMillan: The first 50 pages or so I was a little meh, then I started to really get into it and had to know the truth and how it ended. Review soon!

Reading This Week:

It's a witchy week ahead!

Witch at Heart: I am enjoying this small town witchly mystery! Enough that I am going to read the second in the series, for sure, and I haven't even finished this one yet!

Season of the Witch: This is a reread. This book was given to me by Jonathan Rand, of American Chillers/Michigan Chillers fame, who is also Christopher Knight, a Michigan author. All the stories in the book are set in Michigan too, so it's a Michigan read too!

Goals this week:

To catch up on my R.I.P. reviews!

Watching:

Van Helsing (SyFy), How to Get Away With Murder, The Good Place, The Goldbergs, The Middle - we are all about the situational comedy this month!! Lol. We also watched the movie Crimson Peak, which was awesome, and It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. We might watch it again before Halloween hits though. You can never have enough of the Great Pumpkin! In fact, we might have The Great Pumpkin leave a small gift for Wyatt on Halloween night to be found in the morning. We are big time Halloween fans over here!

  1. Yay for witchy reads! I like Halloween too. That Michigan book sounds great! I haven't been watching nearly enough scary stuff though, been so busy. I need to find somethnig as I'm running out of time. :) Charlie Brown is the best and Van Helsing sound good, is that the new show?

    1. I am thinking of watching the movies Trick or Treat and Wicker Man (the original) before Halloween, to add in a few more scary viewings. :) Crimson Peak freaked me out! Van Helsing is pretty good! Not my favorite thing we watch, but not bad. I really like some of the things they have done with the vampire myth in it.

I have had The Perfect Girl sitting on my TBR shelf for awhile now. I will have to check back to read your review.

    Have a great week!

  5. I just put out my witchy decorations...yes, they are easy figurines that hide in the closet until the appropriate time.

    Enjoy!

I liked The Perfect Girl, but yes, not so much the stuff about the younger years. Thanks for sharing, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    1. I haven't decorated much inside, just some gourds on our dining room table. Next year is the year I will do more inside. Hopefully. Lol.

  6. I'm not a big fan of Halloween, except when I was a child & my birthday parties were Halloween-themed because my birthday landed the same week as it's in. Now that my kids are grown we do give out candy, but waves and waves of teens come later at night and rap on the door and get the dogs barking.... don't I sound like a curmudgeon, lol! Hope Wyatt has fun dressing up and getting goodies!

I might pick up The Perfect Girl soon. Good to know it gets better as it goes on.

Have a good week and enjoy that little guy!

    1. Oh wow! How fun that must have been, a spooky birthday party! I don't mind older kids coming, I figure they could be out getting into trouble instead, but they do need to respect the time, and not come too late. :( Lol. It's tough to give out candy with pets - I am always afraid of our cats getting out!

I am excited to see how this Halloween goes for Wyatt!

  7. Not too scary, 'just' a giant spider farm, she says. Haha! It sounds like you're having a blast with autumnal activities at the moment, and hopefully your decorating is much the same! Some new to me titles featured reading wise - I hope you have a great week!

    1. Lol! Our inspiration was actually a ginormous real spider who built a web on our porch and freaked me out!! I don't like actual spiders. Lol.

      Thanks Jade!

    1. I actually really liked it! I got it free from Amazon for Kindle, and didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. :) And we are having so much fun Halloweening. :)

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
