It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.
Read Last Week:
Nothing...
I was so restless last week. Nothing I started to read was good, nothing I ate was any good, I couldn't settle down. I think it was the sudden change in weather - it went from 20 degrees to 80 degrees almost overnight. I feel like this week is going to be better for me.
I did get some reviews done. I finished my reviews for:
(click on link for my review)
Reading This Week:
Return to Sullivan's Island by Dorothea Benton Frank: I love this author, and when I saw this on Sheila from Book Journey's blog, I realized I missed this one somehow! And then I found it at a garage sale Saturday for fifty cents!
Yankee Doodle Dixie by Lisa Patton: This is for my online book club that I started with my family. It looks pretty good!
Both of you books for this week look really good. I like Southern fiction but haven't tried either of these authors yet.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a better week this week! I am kind of liking this summer weather and hope it is here to stay!
I am not sure what my deal was - I was in such a weird mood!
DeleteI love southern fiction; Dorothea Benton Frank is wonderful, her books make me long to be on a southern island.
The covers of your books look so nice! enjoy the week.
ReplyDeleteThe Clockwork Princess, eh? I loved that one. Best of the entire series, in my opinion. I have a review scheduled for it at the end of May. I hope you enjoy it as well!
ReplyDeleteTake a look at what I'm reading this week.
I totally agree with you, it was the best of the series. I cried like a baby at the end. I will have to check out your review! :)
DeleteThe Lisa Patton book looks familiar to me. I don't know if I read or if I have just picked it up and looked at it. I'll have to read more about it.
ReplyDeleteIt is a sequel (which I didn't realize!) to another book, which I think is called Whistlin' Dixie in a Noreaster.
DeleteYou look like you have some great books to read. I really enjoyed Clockwork Princess. Actually I like the entire series. I'm currently reading The Host by Stephenie Meyer.
ReplyDeleteMy friend is picking The Host for our book club next month! I will have to check out your thoughts on it. :)
DeleteI like the look of the books you're reading this week. Hope you enjoy them. See what I'm reading here.
ReplyDeleteTasha @ A Trillian Books xxx
I love southern fiction. It's my fave. :)
DeleteThere's something about fruit/food on covers that always draws me in. I lve that you are reading Yankee Doodle Dixie with your family online. I was in a family reading group but it kind of died out. Might need to start that up again...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
Me too! I must like food a lot. This is our first month trying it out, we will see how it goes! We are doing it right now as a facebook group, I am still working out the kinks. :)
DeleteI'm going to have to check out the Southern Fiction challenge. Have you read Diane Chamberlain? She's my favorite author and many of her books are set in NC, and places I know and love living in NC myself. Hope you have a great week! Here's my Monday post if you'd like to stop by.
ReplyDeleteI have not! But now I am going to have to. I love reading about the south. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteSounds like you had a case of the BLAHS. Or it could be a case of the BLEHs. Hope you have a better week. Weather changes -- especially extreme changes-- are a little tough. Our weather went from extreme cold, to raining, to cold to a few warmish days, then some pleasant cool mornings and warm afternoons to BEING IN AN OVEN. ugh. could barely move today. Good news is that warm weather is better for your muscles and arthritis. :) I have to keep that in mind when I want to complain about the heat.
ReplyDeleteThe Dixie book looks interesting - hope you enjoy your reads this week.
My Reading Week
Have a fun week.
I had a serious case of them. :( I am glad they have passed. I am going to have to keep that in mind about the heat too, I am not a big fan of anything over 80 degrees. Lol.
Deletehaha - I'm feeling a little blah about my reading this week.... :)
DeleteWhilst both a new to me, both your reads this week look quite interesting. I look forward to reviews on them.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! :-)
I really liked Return to Sullivan's Island! I love Dorothea Benton Frank though. :)
DeleteOh, cool! I love finding books at garage sales that I've been wanting. Enjoy your week! =)
ReplyDeleteIt was serendipitous!
DeleteI really need to finish the MI series and then hit the infernal devices series. I'm so behind. Thanks for visiting my Monday post!
ReplyDeleteI have not finished the Mortal Instruments series either! I stalled out on the fourth book. It just didn't seem the same. I think this summer I will try to tackle it again. :)
