It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, that is guaranteed to add to your reading list.

It is finally starting to feel like fall around here! Summer just kept hanging on, much to my chagrin. I know I should have appreciated it more, knowing winter is around the corner, but fall is my most wonderful time of the year!

I even did some impromptu chestnut gathering on a walk. With the help of the husband's hat, that is!

Read Last Week:

I can't seem to stick with a plan lately! I ended up reading something entirely different, again, from what I had thought I would be reading.  Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I am pregnant? :) Twelve weeks today! I am not sure if this could dictate what I am reading, but I feel like maybe it could?

The Seventh Link by Margaret Mayhew: I was feeling the English cozies last week!  This one wasn't all that fab though. Review.

Death of a Perfect Wife by M.C. Beaton: I adore this series!! I am probably going to read the entire series all over again. My husband and I also watched the television show, and loved it, although it was totally different from the books.

Reading This Week:

I hope to stick to my plan this week!!

Witch Upon a Star by Jennifer Harlow: A NetGalley read that sounds interesting!

The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe: I read this a few years ago, and have been wanting to read it again.

Death of a Witch by M.C. Beaton: Might as well round out the theme, with this Hamish Macbeth mystery.

Posted Last Week:

Currently Watching:

Gilmore Girls! I have to admit, this being released onto Netflix is probably messing with my reading too. Lol. I am watching that alone though. Together we are watching Friday Night Lights, Sleepy Hollow, and we are looking forward to the return on Supernatural!!

  1. It does feel like fall, it's been very blustery over here. Congratulations, by the way! :)

I was looking at mysteries over the weekend and saw stuff by MC Beaton- I've heard her stuff is good. Hope those are good ones...

    1. Thanks! And blustery is just the word to describe the weather we are having, on this side as well!

I know a lot of people like M.C. Beaton's Agatha Raisin series, although I haven't tried it. I have only read Hamish. They are pretty good, especially if you are a cozy mystery fan. :)

  2. Congratulations! Hope you are feeling well. Fall came fast on this side of the State. The hot cider has been delicious. Sleepy Hollow got off to an interesting start. Have a great week.

    1. Thank you! Yes, I am starting to feel much better. :)

Fall took way to long to reach our side, but now that it is here, I am excited to enjoy every drop of it. Cider sounds amazing! And Sleepy Hollow, I agree- did start out pretty crazy. I am looking forward to seeing where they are going.

  3. I've been wanting to try reading a Hamish Macbeth book for years - I love the TV show too, used to watch it when I was a teen and got my husband into it a few years ago. Which book in the series do you recommend starting with?

    1. I tend to read things all out of order, but then I am always playing catch up. I would say start with the first in the series, Death of a Gossip then read them in order. I am going to try to get back on track of reading them in order, starting next week. :) It's nice to meet another Hamish fan! :)

  4. Congrats! Looks like you have an interesting week of reading ahead. It's OK to stray from a plan. You will find that "after baby", there is no such thing as a "plan" heehee!

  5. Congrats on the upcoming Bibliophile Baby!! Yay for you and your hubby! Hope you aren't having any more morning sickness.
I need to check out MC Beaton when I'm feeling in the mood for a British cozy. I bought a used paperback of the Physick Book of Deliverance Dane last month but haven't gotten to it yet.
I just started watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix, only watched one season previously so I am happy to start anew with it. Enjoy the week, feel well.

    1. Lol I love that name! I am feeling much better these past few days, thank goodness. :) Thank you! :)

The Hamish Macbeth series is fun, with all these quirky characters and residents of the town. Kind of like Gilmore Girls, just in Scotland and with crime. Lol.

  6. Oh- I love your chestnut collection. That is fun. Your cozy covers are wonderful but I see little critter covers (Seuss cats and Pooh bears, etc) in your future. Congratulations! Happy reading!

    1. Yes! They have a great dynamic. I was so upset when they finally cancelled the show, but I guess they couldn't have it go on forever! Lol.

  9. Pregnancy is a perfect excuse for anything;) I'm watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix too, right this minute in fact, I'm halfway through Season 2. I wasn't expecting it to be so addictive!

    Have a great week,

    1. Maybe readers like fall, because the weather helps give us an excuse to stay in and read? Lol.

I have a feeling another viewing of Gossip Girl is in my future this winter lol.

      Thanks for the follow! :)

  12. Congratulations! That's very exciting, and a good reason to spend lots of time reading before life gets really busy in a few more months.

The Seventh Link is another book cover I could live in. And enjoy your time in Stars Hollow! I love that show!

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
