I am looking forward to seeing what next year's reading brings to me. I am also having a hard time deciding on the first book I am going to read in 2017! The first book I read in 2016 actually made this favorites list - Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. I went on to read a million little mysteries this year afterwards too! Probably out of these, my top favorites have to be Readers of Broken Wheel and The Oregon Trail. The Oregon Trail was fun because I mini book club'd it with my husband. And now, of course, I want a mule. If you read this book, you probably do too!
Great list! I love that cover of And Then there Were None and I remember seeing your thoughts on The Oregon Trail- I should read that one. Lewis & Clark always fascinated me. I liked City of the Lost and can't wait for the next one.

Thanks!! I can't wait for the new book in the City of the Lost series either - I found myself liking that book way more than I expected to. The Oregon Trail was really, I definitely recommend it!! The beginning was a teeny bit slow, but I found once they actually hit the trail it picked up. And Menagerie was awesome!
DeleteAha! I actually read a few of these. I read (and really enjoyed) And Then There Were None-- but a long time ago, and more recently Close Your Eyes, Hold Hands, City of the Lost, and Court of Mist and Fury. I also read Broken Wheel, but I was in the minority who didn't favor this one. I found it kind of "corny" to be honest but glad you loved it. Considering you have a little guy who takes up much of your time, and school and work, wow you did well with your reading and your choices, in my opinion. I have the second in City of the Lost series from NG, to read after the new year.

I'm a big cheeseball so it worked for me, plus I am a sucker for anything small town, quirky characters. :) And thanks Rita! It is a resolution of mine this to try and find more "me" time - does that ever work when you have a young child, or am I dreaming? :)

DeleteI find that we are simplifying our Christmas' more and more every year, and frankly, they are much nicer! We have had more time with family and less time doing things that we don't enjoy. Hopefully you are all feeling better soon!

ReplyDeleteA great variety of books read in 2016, Erin - many of them are titles I'm familiar with but haven't read myself, however And Then There Were None is a book I read a couple of years ago and absolutely loved! I keep meaning to read more of Christie's work.
