The Sunday Post/It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

Wyatt and I had the busiest week we have ever had!! I am still exhausted from it lol. Poor kid was a trooper though and did great. This week looks to be seriously busy too, but then I see much smoother and easier weeks on our horizon. Yay! This last week we had an end of the year picnic, a visit with my old boss, therapy for the boy, Wyatt's first trip across state lines to visit his cousin Gus, which was super fun, followed by our weekly Friday night visit with our friends, then this weekend was all about catching up on all the running around we should have done this week. Phew.

I did get some reading in!

Read last week:

The Raven King: By far her very best series. So so good. I am sad it is over!

Reading This Week:

Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson: So, I started this the other day, and laughed my brains out while reading it. Tears in my eyes kind of laughter. I love this book so far!!

Watching:

GoT, and we started watching Alone on the History Channel. Omg, that show. All I can say is bears and cougars - no thanks!!

  1. I really want to read Furiously Happy! The maniacal gleam in that raccoon's eye is perfect.

  2. Wow a busy week. But sounds fun too! Hope this week is good as well. :)

I don't think I've seen one bad review of Stiefvater's books.

Hard to believe we're on episode 7 of GoT. How can the season be almost over already???

    1. It was fun but busy!! We had a blast for most of it. :)

I loved all of the books I have read of hers, but my husband who loved The Raven Cycle series, did not care for the Shiver series, which I liked.

I don't know, it is flying by!

  3. I still haven't read the Raven Cycle yet. Glad you loved it. Seems to be her most popular work. Surprised no one is making a movie out of it but maybe that isn't such a bad thing considering how disappointing so many adaptations are!

One of my friends said Furiously Happy was hilarious. Maybe I'll have to check it out sometime when I need a good laugh.

Looks like you did have a crazy busy week. Hope things slow down for you soon. Have a great week this week!

    1. I am actually surprised it hasn't been made into a movie yet either, but I agree - sometimes the movies are awful!

It is seriously funny - oo is that like furiously happy? Lol.

      Thanks Christina!

    1. I had heard good things - I love it! I actually heard about it from Jade on Reading With Jade. I am loving it. It is hard to laugh quietly when the boy is sleeping though. Lol.

  6. Your busy week sounds delightful, for the most part; the picnic really appealed to me. And the visit with the cousin.

Enjoy the new week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  8. Okay, I really want to read that Raven series now. Glad you a great week even though it was busy. I love how you get together with your friends on Friday. Mine are all scattered around the Bay Area and two of them are nurses. It's so hard for us to get together.

    2. Lol! My husband and I both really loved it! It is by far my favorite of hers.

Our Friday nights are pretty easy going, relaxed and fun. It works out so well ~ their daughter is a few months younger than Wyatt and goes to bed early. Wyatt falls asleep anywhere pretty easily, so we can go over there, eat dinner, visit, have adult conversations, a glass of wine, then head home. It is a nice way to end the work week. :)

I have a friend in health care and I never see her anymore! :(

  9. While I haven't read any, the Maggie Stiefvater books I have seen lauded by keen reading teachers everywhere. Awesome when you have such a great series. Always sad when it finishes.

    1. I have always enjoyed her work, but I think this is the best by far. There was a maybe hint at the end that we might see these characters again, I hope we do. :)

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
