It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, that is guaranteed to add to your reading list.
Only 8.5 more days of work!! Woohoo!! I can't wait! I am looking forward to reading, gardening, cooking, blogging, basically doing all of the things I haven't had much time to do recently.
Read Last (2) Weeks:
Reviews to be up soon! I promise!
The End of Everything by Megan Abbott: Another home run in my opinion; I am really enjoying Abbott's work!
Paper Towns by John Green: LOVED it!! I am definitely a John Green book addict.
Wonder by R.J. Palacio: I bought this for work, and read it immediately after buying it. I really loved it, and it made me cry.
Reading this Week (or so):
I'm getting graphic.
Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes: I love this book, and I picked it up last week again while I was studying for midterms. It was so nice to retreat to this world Mayes has created.
The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer: It is finally the perfect time to read this.
I have heard that Wonder is fantastic and I want to read it someday. I saw that Frances Mayes has a new book. I still haven't read this one though I do remember checking it out from the library when the movie came out.
ReplyDeleteWonder was fantastic! I took it home, plopped on the couch, and didn't stop reading until I was done. And since it is a kid book, that didn't take very long. ;) I was operating under the assumption for all these years that Under the Tuscan Sun was Mayes' only book! I just looked her up because of your comment to find many books I haven't read by her! Lol. Thanks for letting me know! :)
DeleteVacation coming up, whoo hoo, enjoy all the reading.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can't wait!! 3 glorious months!
DeleteI'm glad you are getting vacation soon to enjoy kicking back, reading more and being outside. Haven't read any of your books but one, Under the Tuscan Sun (and saw the movie) but I have read good things about all of them. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYes, I can't wait! I am like one of the kids, counting down the days! :)
DeleteThanks! :)
Paper Towns does sound good, and so does The Interestings.
ReplyDeleteI loved Paper Towns! And I learned a cool fact from it that I have enjoyed trotting out over beers or coffee. :)
DeleteEach and every one of these look fantastic!!! I did read Under the Tuscan Sun years ago and it was good. The rest I haven't read. Enjoy your vacation! I may be getting one this summer, too, lol. I may be unemployed (not a bad thing! I swear because I have plannnnnnnnnns if it goes down! LOL) in a week.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, my vacation is really 3 months of unemployment - summer break from the school I work at. I can't wait!!
DeleteWhat are your plans? :)
I've heard great things about 'The Interestings' but somehow I still don't feel like reading John Green. I feel like the hype is turning me off him and his books :( I love the cover for 'This One Summer' with the different blue shades. I can definitely not wait for this week to be over so I've finished exams! I hope you enjoy you reading!

There is definitely hype surrounding John Green. I really like his work - the worlds and characters he writes are similar to the kid I was at those ages, and I can relate to the stories, in an almost nostalgic sort of way. :)
DeleteGood luck on your exams!!! :)
Paper Towns is my favourite John Green novel, I love it. Happy reading! :D
ReplyDeleteI have to say it is up there!! I don't know which is my favorite. Hmm.
DeleteThanks!
I hope you loveThe Interestings as much as I did. Still haven't reviewed it yet, but it's probably my favorite book of the year so far. I also enjoyed Under the Tuscan Sun. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteWow! It must be good, I am really excited to start it! It is going to be a great book to kickstart my summer break. :)
DeleteI loved Under the Tuscan Sun. Its a book I go back to re read!
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely!! It is a great book to daydream by.
DeleteLooks like some interesting books! have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteI love Under the Tuscan Sun (the book was SOOO much better than the movie). Italy addicts unite! :)
ReplyDeleteYes I agree!!! Does our addiction make us Italophiles? Lol.
