It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

Brought to you by Sheila at Book Journey!

This past week was a doozy! The book fair completely wiped me out; I would go home and around 8:00 pm just pass out from exhaustion. I was even tired on Saturday! But it is well worth it, both to see the excitement of the students about buying books, and as a fundraiser for the library. We earned our highest number of sales this year, what a blessing for my library. I already have a list of books I need to buy. Lol. My favorite moment - helping a student who brought in a hatful of pennies count out ten dollars in pennies so that he could buy the book he wanted. He was so proud of himself, and I was very happy for him.

My new laptop came! Woohoo!

Read Last Week:

Nothing!! Just didn't have a single second to read.

Reading This Week:

Little WomenThe Signature of All Things Christmas on 4th Street (Fool's Gold, #12.5)
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott: I have really been in the mood to reread this book! I am going to start it this week for sure.

The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert: I plan on reading this, we shall see. I do have lots of time to read this week, due to our super long Thanksgiving break.

Christmas on 4th Street by Susan Mallery: I started this a few weeks ago, and need to finish it.

  2. I've been wanting to re-read Little Women, too - and I totally fell in love with that cover when I recently saw it in a bookstore! I think my book club is going to read The Signature of All Things next month, can't resist all the buzz.

  5. I'm glad the book fair was so successful! I used to love going to those when I was a kid. I'd save up my lunch money and buy Nancy Drew books :)

I hope you have some time to read this week. I read Little Women for the first time last December and really loved it. I was just thinking of watching the movie soon. It is a great story for the holidays. Happy Thanksgiving!

  6. Oh I love a good book fair! Great news for your library.

I never finished reading Little Women - got halfway and just completely lost interest. I'd never read it as a kid like so many other people and I just wasn't in the right mood for it I suppose.

    1. Thanks!

Yeah, I think you really have to be in the mood for any book really. I put books down and never go back many times.

    1. Lol! It is a much better cover than most I have seen, that is for sure. Much more lively! I read it for a bit last night, but I fell asleep in the middle of reading, as always. Lol. Good luck! I am sure you will love it!

  12. I hope you enjoy Gilbert's new novel, I'm hoping to review it this week. I adore her writing but the 100 year epic is a huge timespan. Still a good book once finished.

    Enjoy!
