  1. I love the range of your selections!

I have to follow your blog now that I've seen that you're from Detroit. I was born in Detroit, but my mother and I moved when I was 7 after my father passed away. Still, I always find myself drawn back to Detroit-related things. :)

    1. I am all over the place! Lol.

Thanks for the follow!! We Detroiters (past and present) need to stick together!

  2. That's a wonderful, if not broad range of books! Even if it doesn't get picked as a spin read, for the love of God, read To Kill a Mockingbird. It's a phenomenal book. I only picked it up this year, and wish I had years ago!

Others that I have read and loved have been: The Hobbit (It's Tolkien. Just yes!), Animal Farm (it's short and harsh but terribly true of society) and the Complete Poems of TS Eliot (I've been in love with 'The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock for years. My favourite poem in the whole wide world!)

I've also read A Streetcar Named Desire after my English teacher raved on about it for so long. I personally didn't think much of it, but it's so short I would recommend it just because you can get it read so quickly!

    Good luck to you :)

    1. Thank goodness, I have read TKAM already. That was a "free" choice. Lol. I love it, you are right it is phenomenal! I read it in high school, and that year when I dyed Easter Eggs, I wrote the character's names in white crayon on mine. Lol.

The Hobbit is another reread - and The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock is my favorite poem ever too! I actually am getting a line of the poem as a tattoo. I just haven't read anything else by him. :(

I am excited to read Tennessee Williams - I read one of his plays in college but that was it. I would like to read them all. :)

Thanks for stopping by! I loved reading your opinions, especially since some of them match mine perfectly! :)

  3. The Complete Poems of T. S. Eliot?? How terrifying! You've got some great stuff there, it's just I generally try to read Eliot one poem at a time. :)

  4. I'm also from Michigan originally, though I haven't lived there in years -- Clinton Township, though I was technically born in Detroit. I'm in Texas right now and I really miss the change in seasons. Great stuff on your list -- I loved A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, though I somehow missed it in my youth. And Blind Assassin is BRILLIANT.

    1. I know where Clinton Township is! :) I have a bunch of friends from college who moved to Texas from Michigan as well.

I love Margaret Atwood but have not read the Blind Assassin. And A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, I somehow missed it as well!

  5. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn was one of my favorite reads last year. I liked Atwood's writing in The Blind Assassin, even if I didn't get into the story as much. Is Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe a re-read or are you new to Narnia?

    1. I am a Narnia newbie. :) A long time ago I tried to read the series, starting with The Magician's Nephew? And I hated it. So I decided to just go ahead and read The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

  6. Franny and Zooey is one of my favourite books (or is it a novella?) of all time, I want to re-read it like, now :) I was also very impressed with The Blind Assassin, the story might not be everyone's cup of tea (though if you like epistolary it definitely doesn't hurt!), but writing is top notch, as always.

  7. I love Franny and Zooey! To Kill A Mockingbird and Little Prince are also gems. Fabulous list overall. I hope you get one you're excited to read!
