It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

Brought to you by Sheila at Book Journey!

Wow, is it cold here!! And even colder temps are on the way. And the snow is unbelievable! Detroit has been hit pretty hard by this winter storm, my work and school have even been cancelled for Monday, at least, and there is a possibility of Tuesday as well. I have been a busy little social butterfly this week, and haven't managed to do anything productive! That will definitely change this week!

Read Last Week:

Paris in Love by Eloisa James: This was not the book I intended to start the year off with, but it is the one I ended up reading. Very readable and a nice easy way to start the year. I participated in Sheila's First Book of the Year Challenge, but didn't end up reading the book I had planned to read.

Reading This Week:

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater: My husband bought me this trilogy for Christmas. This blizzard is the perfect time to read it, in my opinion.

Waking the Dead by Heather Graham: Reading for NetGalley. It should be fun and escapist this week!

  1. Oh man. I remember when Shiver first came out and the buzz about it. I STILL want to read that series. Yes, blizzard is perfect reading weather for Shiver! LOL Enjoy!

  2. I loved Shiver but didn't like either of the followups - I hope you enjoy them though!

    Have a fab week,

  4. Paris in Love seems to be a good book to have eased yourself in to 2014 with reading wise.
Ah, I wish you had better weather, but at least you have some good books to curl up with!

    1. It was a very gentle book to begin the year with, with lots of snippets of food and the general life in Paris. The snow is unbelievable here!

  5. Paris in Love looks interesting. One of my coworkers is a big fan of Eloisa James and she read it and enjoyed it. I really liked Shiver and it is a good read for this time of year.

It is really really cold here though we didn't get as much snow with this latest storm as I thought we would. I am kind of hoping I won't have to work tonight as the temperatures are supposed to be in the negatives.

    1. I didn't know that Eloisa James wrote other stuff until halfway through this book! Lol. I thought it was just a random memoir type thing. I loved this one, I will have to look her fiction up.

Ugh negative temps are on the way today! I can feel it getting colder in our house now even. :(

  6. Happy winter, isn't this fun? Um, just kidding. Sounds like you guys are getting hammered too. We got a ton of snow yesterday, but it's the temps today that are supposed to be bad. Stay warm! Paris in Love looks good, books about France always work. Sounds like a good movie title, too. :)

  9. I see Detroit on the news. It is bitter cold here too, but not as cold as the very northern states.

    STAY WARM AND SAFE.

ENJOY your reading week. Looks like some good books lined up.

    1. It is unreal! I went out to refill the bird feeders, and it took ten minutes for my legs to warm up when I came back in! I have never been in cold like this.

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
