It' Monday, What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a weekly blog meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey where you list the books you read last week and the ones you hope to read this week.

Read Last Week:

Farewell, Dorothy Parker by Ellen Meister: This is a whimsical take on a timid woman's life and the spirit of Dorothy Parker. I really enjoyed it! Review coming soon.

Reading This Week:

This Rough Magic by Mary Stewart: This is another of my go to comfort reading authors.

History of a Pleasure Seeker by Richard Mason: Still working on this for book club.

Coming up this week!

  1. I haven't read anything by Mary Stewart yet but I have seen her mentioned as a good pick for fans of Susanna Kearsley so I will have to check out her books!

    1. I can totally see that. I have read one or two Kearsley and I agree, the style is similar.

    1. Thanks! Yes, our book club took a trip out. History of a Pleasure Seeker and I are not getting along right now too well, I think I am just not in the mood. Lol.

  5. Happy reading! I think I may have a go-to comfort author too, in Melina Marchetta and Hannah Harrington.

  7. Have a good week! Saying you're "still working on" History of a Pleasure Seeker sounds like it's a bit of a slog? Or are you enjoying it? I've heard of this book and it sounds interesting.

  9. I've only bumped shoulders a little bit with Dorothy Parker's biography. I am most curious about her.

  10. I second the question on History of a Pleasure Seeker...and the "still working" on part - is it a huge book, or just slow to read, hard to get through...(boring?). ;)

Hope you have a good reading week, heck a good week in general! :)

    1. Lol! Thanks!

It is just me I think, I am just not in the particular mood for it right now. I am going to try to hunker down with it this week - what I have read though so far is good. :)

    2. Oh yes - very hard to finish a book when you're not in the mood for it. That's one of the problems I've been having with books lately - hard to find the book mood I'm in. :)

  11. Glad you enjoyed Farewell Dorothy Parker and I look forward to seeing your review. I will probably wait until it's out in paperback before I pick it up (unless my library gets it in). Have a great week.

    1. It was good! I won a copy of it from Librarything, and it is enjoyable, but I agree, you should wait until it is in paperback or at the library. :)
