The Sunday Post/It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

I have been a busy little bee lately! We have things happening around here, little changes are being made - we will see how they go! We just got back from our first family trip, and we had a blast.

Right now, Billy and the boy are out at breakfast, and I have the house to myself. I'm just sitting here, drinking my coffee, listening to the quiet. I had almost forgotten what quiet sounded like.

Read Last Week:

Mystic Summer by Hannah McKinnon: I am not sure I really liked this book? I feel like there was too much infidelity going on, and I am not a fan of that.

Snowfall on Haven Point by RaeAnne Thayne: I don't usually read a Christmas book out of season, but this advanced readers copy was worth breaking my pattern for. I am not quite finished but I will be very soon.

Reading This Week:

I was so excited! I went to the library when we got home from vacation (of course) and I had a ton of my holds come in! Now, to decide where to start is the problem. It will be one of these.

Watching:

We finished up Stranger Things, which was amazing! We actually finished a lot of stuff up that we had been saving, and now are fishing around for something until the fall lineup begins. We are watching Season 3 of Sleepy Hollow, and while I love the two lead actors in this show, it's not the same as Season 1. We also watched the BBC series Thirteen, which was amazing! You have to pay per episode on Amazon, even with Prime, but there are only a few episodes and it was fantastic, in my opinion.

What about you? What's been going on?

  1. Ah Erin the peaceful sounds of being alone..no interruptions, no music, tv or video games in the background. Not feeling guilty because someone wants our attention..blis! I hope you have lots of moments of Bliss this week. Betrayals is on my must read list. I am thinking it will be perfect for Fall.

    1. It was a great way to begin the week - especially this week, that is already chaos! Lol. I think Betrayals will be a great fall read as well.

  2. I got Betrayals from a giveaway win but haven't read it yet. I know it's part of a series so maybe I'll hang onto it until I can start the series properly. And I loved Stranger Things! I'm sort of between netflix shows but I did just finish up TURN: Washington's Spies which is a Revolutionary War show, based on real events but takes liberties w/ the story. It's pretty good! And I watched Marcella too which was pretty good.

    1. Did you ever get that other book from the giveaway I had? If not, I will contact the people! It was from that same series. I love that book series, it is my favorite of hers so far.

Billy likes Turn too! I should give it another shot maybe.

    2. I did get it, thank you! That was actually the one I was talking about, I got the title mixed up it was Deceptions not Betrayals (oops- embarrassed!) I read the first few chapters and I like her writing, but I'm thinking of getting the rest of the books and reading it in order. I've heard so many good things- and I liked her City of the Lost she wrote.

I just finished S3 of TURN. And it's pretty good, although some of the characters are pretty unlikeable. That's probably realistic though!

  3. Can I tell you I had so much fun reading your recent comments on my blog? Thank you; you are so fun and sweet. Hooray for some alone reading time. A hardworking mommy deserves some me time. I've been busy getting my two healthy and ready for school. We did a marathon of back-to-school shopping Friday from buying mama a pair of Downton Abby Oxfords to adding to their wardrobes from Kohl's and Target, and to knocking off supplies from their school lists. We have to go to the other Target that's more near us to find what we didn't find at Daiso.

    1. :)

It was so nice - if only my week could have stayed as quiet! Oh well, it's only Tuesday, the week has hope to turn around. Lol. Back to school shopping is the best!! I bet you had a great day together!

  6. Having a bunch of holds coming in is like a mini-Christmas! Sometimes when I put holds on hot new items and it takes forever for my books to come in, I forget I put on the holds on them, and it's a fun surprise when the book finally arrives!

  7. I've heard such good things about Stranger Things. I'm going to have to add it to the watch list!

Here's my #IMWAYR (even though it's not Monday anymore!). :)

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
