It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

It was a pretty great week, which ended with my niece's first birthday party today! It was pink lemonade themed and it turned out so cute! The desserts were spot on - lemon cookies, lemonade cupcakes, fairy wheels - it was adorable. Wyatt loved it too, and put away a few fistfuls of cake.

Seriously, how cute is this cupcake? My niece's maternal aunt made these!

Read Last Week:

I loved School for Unusual Girls - now I can't wait to read the next one.

Joyland was a reread of an old favorite for my book club - my pick. I love this book and it was interesting to hear my book clubbers thoughts!

Reading This Week:

The Roanoke Girls by Amy Engel - A NetGalley read

I will probably throw something else in the mix too - tomorrow is library day!!

Posted Last Week;

The Office (American) - this is sometimes almost painful to watch!

The Olympics, and we are about to start Bloodline. Otherwise, just waiting for my regular shows begin.

  1. That lemonade cupcake looks delicious! I love themed parties. :)

Glad you liked A School for Unusual Girls. I thought the sequel was even better. I can't wait for the third book!

Hope you have a great week :)

  2. Yay for Unusual Girls! I liked that one a lot too- and the next one is good. I hope you guys like Bloodline- I enjoy it even though it can be a tad slow moving at times. I think I liked S2 better- not sure. the locations alone are nice. It's been all Olympics over here this week- we've been watching as much as we can.

  3. Yay for HF! I want to read the School for Unusual Girls asap. Glad you enjoyed it. And I found my print copy of The Girls so I'll be reading that sometime this Fall.

I love those cupcakes, seriously too cute to eat, and the lemonade theme, yum and original! I'm sure Wyatt had a ball at the party.

I too am watching the Olympics, having fallen into a Netflix rut. I watched both seasons of Bloodline and loved it. Maybe because I've been to the Keys a couple of times when I lived in FL and love it there, or maybe because of the actors: Sissy Spacek, and the men who play the two MC brothers, wow-- they're good! One is from Friday Night Lights, the other was new to me. Enjoy!

  4. What a fun party to attend. It's cute what mamas will do for their babies. I'm planning a fiesta for the 27th for my SIL and husband. His birthday is tomorrow so I'll be making baby back ribs and having a run at my first carrot cake ever. I hope I didn't confuse you a lot from the last post. You know in any hobby there is such a variety of equipment that can be used. For a knitter, needles are the most important ones.

    1. No you didn't! Well kind of, but that is ok! It's like a whole other world. but any hobby is like that once you really get involved in it. :) Your party sounds fun! Good luck with your cake - I am sure it will be delicious!!

  5. What a great idea for a party theme, and those cupcakes are adorable! I bet they were delicious, too. Will look forward to hearing more about The Roanoke Girls.

  6. Ah nothing like a young birthday, as we have the next generation coming on (grandies) there are a few to attend so love that. Love the pink cupcake. Just had a peek at your review for The Girls in the Garden - haven't read that one yet but loved your review.

  7. The School for Unusual Girls strikes my interest. Hope you're enjoy your books!

My It's monday! What are you reading? blog.

  8. Those cupcakes look amazing and the party theme sounds do sweet. First birthdays are a big deal! A School for Unusual Girls is on my TBR and I am glad to hear you enjoyed it.

    Here's my weekly round up : #IMWAYR

  9. I love library days. They always disrupt my reading plans. Enjoy your week!

  10. That cupcake...YUM!

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
