Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post!
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date
Whew it was a doozy of a week! Midterms, a teething baby, and a husband with the flu!!! I was actually more prolific on the blog this week too; I think with everything going on, I needed some time to relax, and I found that here.
This week we celebrate Wyatt's first birthday! I am so excited, and I seriously can't believe it has been a year already. Where did the time go? We are having a Where the Wild Things Are themed party for him - I can't wait! It is also book club week, which is always fun.
Read Last Week:
Hope Unfolding by Becky Thompson: I think with my crazy week, this was the perfect read. Review coming soon.
Reading this week:
Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica: I will probably start this one, although I need to concentrate on Neanderthal Seeks Human - which is our book club book!
I am also still chugging along on the Oregon Trail book by Rinker Buck!
Watching:
The Walking Dead, Top Chef, iZombie, and The Originals are my current favorites right now, with the addition of 11/22/63. 11/22/63 is amazing so far!!! And it doesn't hurt that I have a huge crush on James Franco anyway.
Posted Last Week:
So what is the happs with you?
Sounds like last week was pretty stressful but I hope this week is fantastic! Happy 1st birthday to Wyatt!
ReplyDeleteIt was! I couldn't believe I had midterms on top of it. College was much easier the first time around, when it was just me I was taking care of. Lol.
DeleteThanks!!
I love Penny Reid! Her books are so humorous and enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I have read her, and so far I love this book! It is definitely funny, which is much needed some days!
DeleteHappy birthday to the little guy! And enjoy the party. I've been getting into TWD- I'm finally all caught up. Been bingin on and off the last few months- had never seen it before. What did you think of Rick and Michonne? This season is kinda crazy... :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
DeleteOmg it's my favorite show on television I think! Have you read the comics/graphic novels? They are supposed to be really good. I was shocked by Rick and Michonne! I think it was inevitable honestly, as two of the biggest alpha personalities in the bunch, but I also think it shows just how relaxed they are starting to feel in Alexandria. Maybe too relaxed.. I am an episode behind now, and I am anxious to see what the deal is with the guy who says everyone calls him Jesus! I call him Jesus Ninja Hipster guy personally. Lol.
I have not read the comics at all. There are so many and I guess there are a lot of changes, like Daryl doesn't even exist in the comics. And I agree- just when things seem relaxed, it probalby means trouble is coming LOL. I kinda like Rick and Michonn... and I need more Carol! Am I wrong for just wanting them to be OK for a while? :)
DeleteI just watched the last episode last night and thought it was pretty good, it was nice to see Rick and Michonne and Daryl in action. A lot of big stuff coming, apparently...
I only had midterms to deal with. Happy birthday to your one-year-old. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteHappy Wyatt! What a wonderful milestone; I remember when he was born and the hopes and joys you had for his future. The party theme is creative and fun.
ReplyDeleteI have had a rough week and possible rough week to come so I need more mellow reads to dive into. Am checking out yours....
Thanks Rita! I can't believe he is getting to be such a big boy - he even looks less babylike and more toddler. :(
DeleteOh no!! I hope you all are ok~ I will be popping by your blog next! Yes, mellow reads are definitely the prescription when things are rough.
I read the entire Knitting in the City series. I'm normally no a romance reader but someone gave me Neanderthal Seeks Human and I was hooked. Such a fun series. Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteLaura :)
My Monday Post
Was that a pun? I enjoyed it regardless of the intention! Lol. I really liked Neanderthal Seeks Human as well! I will have to read the rest. :)
DeleteI'd never heard of "Neanderthal Seeks Human," but it looked good--and I just saw that it is currently FREE on Kindle! Yay!
ReplyDeleteYes!!! That is a reason my friend picked it for book club! Lol. I hope you enjoy it!
DeleteI hope you have a better week. It's amazing what curveballs we mums can take and survive from life. I can't wait to see the snippets from Wyatt's partay! That is such a classic book and it was a good movie too. I even believe there are some Where the Wild Things Are patterns on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteThanks Stefanie! I am excited to share about his party, we had a great time, and so did he!
