It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, that is guaranteed to add to your reading list.

Read Last Week:

In Your Dreams by Kristan Higgins: This was a fun snowy read! I enjoyed it.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott: I'm not finished but I am going to buckle down on it this week and get it done. I am enjoying it but am so tired by the time I get to read most nights I fall asleep!

Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder: I always get a little nostalgic and reread this series in the winter.

Reading This Week:

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott: This is my week to finish this book!

Thanksgiving by Janet Evanovich: Seemed appropriate for this week. :)

  1. I really liked In Your Dreams and this whole series. I loved Jack's cat too. I never read Laura Ingalls Wilder as a child and I think that's why I have never taken to that series. Loved Little Women though and the ones that follow.

    1. I have only read two in the series but I am thinking I might have to read them all. :)

I am such a weird freak about Little House. Lol. Well that might be too extreme, but I loved them as a kid and love them now as an adult. Now they are just such comfort reads. :) If you didn't read them as a kid, I can see why you wouldn't really like them now as an adult.

  2. Ah Farmer Boy... not sure if I read that one, I did read some of the books. I think they great for kids and such classics. Love the cover of Thanksgiving.

    1. I think I like to Farmer Boy, and really all of the Little House books, for the food descriptions. They always make the food sound so hearty and wholesome and plentiful, you can just imagine sitting around the table with your family enjoying the bounty of what you had raised or grown yourself. And that is from a vegetarian who probably wouldn't eat half of what they do in the books. Lol.

    1. Yeah, I think it's pretty old, maybe first published in 2006? So I guess not super old, but old enough.

  5. I didn't know about the Thanksgiving book-- I read about the first dozen Steph Plum series, then burned out on them. Sometimes I think a series should end while it's ahead, while it's on top just like some sports stars do :) I loved the idea and burned through them but then it got too forumulaic and I didn't chuckle as much. I wish she would bring this to a big conclusion for closure for all the long-time readers or totally change it up--send Steph to Vegas or something, lol.

Have a great Thanksgiving day in your cozy little kitchen.

    1. I did the same with Stephanie Plum! I started out loving them but then they just never evolved, and were the same book after book. It was like, shouldn't she have at least improved a little bit as a bounty hunter, after all this time? It was hard to read about her staying so inept with no improvement. I loved them then got tired of them. :( Thanksgiving is a stand alone book, not in a series. It's not too bad so far, although I have some disagreements with how the main characters are acting.

      Thanks!

  6. I've only read one of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books. One of these days I'll get around to reading a series I should have read as a kid. :) Enjoy your reread!

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
