It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a weekly blog meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey where you list the books you read last week and the ones you hope to read this week.

Read Last Week:

I had total reading A.D.D. last week - twelve of my library holds came in, and I kept hopping around from book to book. I couldn't make up mind about which one I wanted to read.  I am going to focus this week for sure!  We also hosted a dinner party on Saturday that consumed much of my time as well.  I am pretty sure I might blog about it as well this week.

Horns by Joe Hill: Our book club book for January. My review will be up after Thursday, along with a book club recap post.

Reading this week:

Radio Shangri-La by Lisa Napoli: I love this kind of memoir. Not so much Eat Pray Love, but most memoirs like this.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor: I keep reading about how good this series is, so I am going to try it out.

Winter Town by Stephen Emond: I read a bit of this last week, I plan to finish it this week.

  1. Radio Shangri-La sounds really interesting and I loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone.

I hate when I can't decide what book to read next because I have so many choices or can't make up my mind about what I'm in the mood to read but it looks like you have some good ones picked out for this week.

    1. Yes, I just couldn't make up my mind! It was bad. Lol. But I think I have narrowed it down. (hopefully!) I have a feeling one of these books might have to wait a week...

  3. The Laini Taylor books are popular at my library - Kind of sad to say I haven't tried them but they look wonderful. The covers are gorgeous too!

  4. I liked the first half of 'Daughter of smoke and bone', but got really confused during the second half. Hope you enjoy it more than I did!

  5. I have yet to give Joe Hill a read, and I don't quite know why. I mean, his books sound great all on their own, plus he's the son of Stephen King! Doesn't get much better than that. :)

Here's what I'm reading this week.

    1. Some parts of the book were SO Stephen King, that I wondered if had crafted some of the dialogue. It was pretty good!

  6. Looking at your books is a lot like looking at my own--we share a lot of the same tastes! I think you'll like Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I loved it on audio! Enjoy your week!

  7. 12 holds at once, zowie! No wonder you can't decide ;) I'll look forward to hearing what you think about the Joe Hill. I haven't read anything of his but I'm very curious.

  8. I really love Laini Taylor's writing. I ran into her at ALA once, and she was super nice! I think you'll like this series.

I swear that holds always all come in at once. Just had that happen with movies, and had to return some without watching because I ran out of time and got fines. I wish we could control when the holds come in :-)

  9. I would like to read Radio Shangrila. I've seen it on Goodreads. Every time I read a synopsis. I say "that's a book I want to read." I know how it feels to have all of your library
holds come in at once. It drives you nuts. All the yummies in hand, but you have to read them by a certain time. We can only have new books for seven days.

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
