It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a weekly blog meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey where you list the books you read last week and the ones you hope to read this week.

First, I have to ask, are any of you excited about the return of Downton Abbey? I am! So happy I get to see this face again.

Tom Branson! Hot Irish former chauffeur.
Anyway, back to reading. Lol.

Read last week:

Cold Days by Jim Butcher:  I was scared to read this since I don't like change, but I really enjoyed it! (review coming)

Blankets by Craig Thompson: Beautiful, fragile, wonderful.

The House on Tradd Street by Karen White: This one I have mixed feelings about. Review coming soon.

Reading this week:

Paper Towns by John Green: I read Looking for Alaska and I am now obsessed. I must read more Green!! I am working my way up to The Fault in Our Stars.

The Dirty Life by Kristin Kimball:  I love books like this.

    1. I feel like FIOS is going to be really emotional - and I am working up to it! It also sounds amazing though.

  2. The Dirty Life. I love those books that discuss my secret ambition to live on a farm (even though I'm firmly entrenched in city life at the moment).

    1. Lol that is exactly why I like to read them too!! A little too much slaughter for me sometimes, but I just skip right over those parts.

    1. Oh no! I hate waiting!! Does your library have it? :)

I think I might pick Blankets for my book club pick next month. I want everyone to read it!

  8. I can't wait to watch the new Downton Abbey! I DVR'd it last night so I am trying not to read too much about it today in lieu of spoilers. I have never read an illustrated novel but Blankets looks like a good book to change that. I hope you enjoy your week!
    Happy Reading,

    1. I love it! I am a total Branson fan. Lol. My friends and I are addicts. My one friend even went to New York to see a play that Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) is in. Lol.

Blankets was a first for me too, and I really enjoyed it. It was more vulnerable that I thought it could be. Excellent book and illustrations.

  9. Hrm, Paper Towns was the only John Green book I've read that I wasn't crazy about. Hopefully it will speak to you more than it did me. Hope you love all your books!

    1. Oh no! I am just kind of going through and picking by the title and covers, to be honest, right now. :( Which ones do you like the best?

  10. I'm with Bibliosaurus Text on the John Green front. I read The Fault in Our Stars last spring, and came away from it feeling decidedly meh. Even so, I'm considering reading his other books, since I'm so very much in the minority in my reaction.

The Dirty Life sounds really interesting! I just moved from Chicago to Mt. Shasta, CA, population 3,600. I'm not on a farm, but it's definitely been a switch. So far I'm loving it. :)

    Have a great week!

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
