The Sunday Post/It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

Whew it was a hot hot weekend here in the D! We did a lot of car rides to get out of the house, but didn't venture out for too long. Wyatt is pretty sensitive to heat so we stuck close to air conditioning. We still had a fun time!

Read Last Week:

On Folly Beach by Karen White: I loved this!! I so love this author, glad that I gave her another try. I really disliked the first book I read by her, but now I am very much enjoying her work. I guess I just needed the right book?

Reading This Week:

I really need to write this post on Monday evenings, but that seems too late. I go to the library on Mondays, so most of the time I am not sure what I am going to read next until I go. However, I do have this gem in my NetGalley:

I read my first Robyn Carr not that long ago, and I enjoyed it so much I knew I would read her again.

Watching:

Supernatural, The Durrells, The Handmaid's Tale, The Keepers, The Good Witch, and I am about to start Orange is the New Black.

What about everyone else? How is it going?

  1. Sorry you're suffering with hot weather; that's when ppl go to the mall for the air conditioning. Sometimes I'll leave all of the blinds closed and then when it's five, I open them up and a few windows and turn on the house fan. Sometimes not all of an author's work appeals to me. It was a busy week but now it's dying down a bit since we got Jellybean's birthday celebration done.

    1. Michigan is so humid blah. I have hair like Maui from Moana. Lol. I've been keeping our house closed up as well, until evening.

Oo I can't wait to read about her celebration! I will be popping right over.

  2. Man it got hot didn't it? Although it's cooler by the lakeshore, which is where I should be camping out lol. I've been watching Shetland over the weekend- kinda slow but good too. Hope you had a great weekend! Stay cool!!

    1. This heat came out of nowhere! I wasn't ready! Lol. Yeah the beach is where to be right now. Or a pool. Our weekend was fun even though it was so stifling. :) I haven't heard of that show yet, I will have to look it up.

  3. It is hot on this side of the State too. We have a breeze that helps a bit, but the AC did go on this evening. Love Karen White's books.

    1. Oh we definitely turned on the air. Between my allergies and the heat, it was going to happen. Lol. It is still cool at night, so I have been huddling under covers like its winter. I am really enjoying her work!

  4. Keep cool, Erin! Ironically, we're still in sunny, hot SoCal, and the temps haven't gotten too hot...yet.

I'm so curious about Karen White. Would you name the book by her you didn't like so I can avoid it, lol? And I do look forward to that Robyn Carr title also. I've read about a dozen by her in various series and stand-alones.

    Enjoy your week!

    1. Thanks Rita! Michigan has some crazy humidity which makes the heat worse; my hair is very Roseanna Roseanna Dana right now. (not sure I spelled that right..)

Sure! The book was the House on Tradd Street. I am wondering if I reread it now if I would still dislike it. It was a while ago when I tried it. I am curious! And I am looking forward to reading another Robyn Carr, I enjoyed the one I read earlier. :)

  5. I love The Handmaid's Tale, too, and just started Season 5 of OITNB.

I want that new Robyn Carr book...and loved On Folly Beach a while ago. Karen White is a must-read.

Thanks for sharing. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    1. The Handmaid's Tale is awesome - although chilling! I can't wait to start Orange. Tomorrow!

I had no idea that I would be so addicted to White's work. I am glad I read The Night the Lights Went Out, it was a fabulous reintroduction for me. :)

  7. I'm watching Supernatural — might go back and re-watch some favorite episodes now that this season is done. The move is really happening. We have temporary housing squared away and most of our home library in storage now. Come see what I'm reading this week.

    1. I have been thinking about that too. My cousin just started watching and keeps reminding me of all these great episodes! The one where Dean dies over and over at the Mystery Spot, The French Mistake, so many. I love that darn show.

      And awesome about your move!

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
