The Sunday Post/It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

I hope everyone has a wonderful Father's Day!

We went on our first family adventure outing yesterday to celebrate Father's Day a little early. We went to Belle Isle in Detroit, and bumbled around checking stuff out with the little guy. The Detroit Boat Club was open to the public. This building was so cool! It has been around since 1839 and has a long and varied history. It is in need of serious repairs but you can still see its beauty in its bones. I hope to get back there soon with my camera! We also stopped into the Nature Zoo. One of the showcases had a few stacks of books of recommended reading, so I had to grab a photo of them, to add a few to my TBR. Lol.

The husband and I also went on our first date since having Wyatt! We went to see Jurassic World, which was amazing!! Interestingly, the very first date we ever went on was to see Jurassic Park!

Read Last Week:

Day Shift by Charlaine Harris: I didn't love the first book in this series, but gave it another chance. I am glad I did, because I really enjoyed this book!

Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen: This was a reread for me. I picked it for book club, and I loved it just as much the second time around.

Reading This Week:

Redemption Bay by RaeAnne Thayne: I am participating in the blog tour for this book! Be sure to check back July 1st for my review and your chance to win a free copy!

Watching:

We have been watching Aquarius, Wayward Pines, and Game of Thrones. Holy moly, the last few episodes!!! Some scenes required me to close my eyes and cover my ears even!

  1. I'm glad you got to enjoy some family time and go on a date. I am curious about Jurassic World and may watch it on DVD. I saw Jurassic Park 3 in the theater.

I love Sarah Addison Allen's books. Lost Lake was good. I hope your book group likes it. I love RaeAnne Thayne's books too though I admit I never finished the last one. I think I prefer the books set at Hope's Crossing.

    1. I loved Jurassic World!! I am a dino nerd though. Lol.

I hope they like it too. :) I do like the Hope's Crossing setting the best, although I did like the last one I read that wasn't set there.

    1. Lol! No I felt the same way, especially after I read the first book in this series. It just wasn't that great. However, this one was way better!

  6. That's so cool about your 1st and recent date with Jurassic. OMG the last couple of episodes of GoT nearly killed me, I'm just going to believe he'll be back lol (trying to be cryptic so I don't spoil it for anyone who's not up to date.)
Have a great week and happy reading!
PS has Wally the Penguin arrived yet?

The end of GoT was crazy! I couldn't believe it. I agree, it can't be over for that character!

  8. I've never been to Belle Isle, but it looks awesome. I'll have to add to my long list of things to do in this amazing state of ours! :)

  9. Glad to hear Jurassic World was good- I'm jealous, I haven't seen it yet! :) It looks like a blast though. We just camped over in Holland for a few days, and it was nice although the weather was iffy. I love all the stuff there is to do in Michigan- sound like you guys had a great time.

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
