It's Monday, What Are You Reading ~ May 6

It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

Read Last Week:

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare: I found myself crying at 1:30 in the morning over this book!  I really loved it, but now I feel I need to read  the Mortal Instruments Series again to clear up some questions in my head.  But I loved this book and wanted to gush about it to my husband immediately after reading it, but he is reading the series too, and wouldn't let me reveal spoilers.

The Fate of Mercy Alban by Wendy Webb: This book fell a little short for me although the atmosphere was perfect.

Reading this Week:

My Backyard Jungle by Robert Barilla: I received this from Netgalley. I had to check it out, I have always thought it would be cool to transform the backyard into a habitat.

Palisades Park by Alan Brennert: I didn't get to this last week, sadly.

The Sassy Belles by Beth Albright: I needed something bright and shiny to read, to match the new weather we are having.

  1. I like that you and your husband are both reading the Cassandra Clare books. It is hard to wait to discuss books with people.

Palisades Park looks really good. The Sassy Belles looks like a fun summer read too.

    1. I am most excited to read Palisades Park!

It is soo hard to wait to discuss books - I think it is a big reason I started blogging, so that I could talk to other people about books.

  2. What a review for Cassandra Clare's books! They don't seem to be the type of books I would normally read but they're quite popular at our store. Have a great reading week!

    1. Yes, me too! I love the lushness of the green, the old house - I am an old house addict. If a book mentions even the hint of an old crumbling mansion or home, I am all over it.

  4. Yes - cool about reading them with your husband. I love when we do that, but it doesn't happen often because I read so dang fast (well, not fast like you all book bloggers)and he can savor a book for months!

    1. My husband reads slowly, he is dyslexic, and I go mad sometimes waiting for him to finish! Lol. I get over it though, since when I met him he was not a reader. But sometimes I am like just sit and read this book, so that we can talk about it!!

    1. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed them! I like the Infernal Devices Series a bit more than the Mortal Instruments. :)

  7. Clockwork Princess sounds terrific. I'll have to check out that series this summer but I'll have to resist the Backyard Jungle because it will likely get me in all sorts of trouble ;)

    1. I am afraid I might convert my yard into a sanctuary after reading this book! But, my dog would probably terrorize anything that tried to live there. :(

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
