My Sunday/Monday Post - Early!

Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

I am early this week! I can't believe how quickly this week went by. Seriously, I blinked and it was gone. I'm not sure I even did anything? Lol. We had plans for today but they fell through, which was a bummer. :( Tomorrow is my cousin's daughter's birthday, which should be fun - and cake! Cake is always good.

Read Last Week:

School for Psychics by K.C. Archer:  This was pretty good. I loved the idea of this book so much, and most of the characters. Except the main character! I didn't hate her, but she was kind of unlikeable in some ways, and she even knew it. Lol. Regardless, I still enjoyed this book. Review soon.

Reading This Week:

Harry: Life, Loss, and Love: I can't wait to read this! I love Prince Harry!! Sure, Prince William is the future king, but Prince Harry is, well Prince Harry! And now he is marrying an American and I am super excited.

The Sacrifice of Sunshine Girl by Paige McKenzie:  So this is the third book in a series, which I didn't know when I agreed to review it, but whatever. I know I am super weird since I don't mind reading books out of order. I stumble into the middle of a series a lot honestly. So far, I like it! The style reminds me of Mary Janice Davidson and Charlaine Harris, just for YA instead of adults. I am intrigued and I am going to check out that YouTube series tonight.

Watching:

We finished up The Finder, which I loved. Only 13 episodes and ended on a cliffhanger forever, as Michael Clark Duncan actually died during the time frame that they were working on it. He was excellent in it by the way. We are also watching Top Chef (just watched the finale!), and just went back to Riverdale, which is super weird this season. I just noticed the other day that all of the episode titles are the names of horror movies - which I find interesting, as this season is so dark. I still like the show, although I wonder where it is headed. We have also started so many different series that we have DNF'd. The Alienist, The Miniaturist are two off the top of my head. They just didn't hold my interest.

What about you guys? What have you been up to?

  1. school for Psychics definitely had me curious after I saw it around. Glad it was pretty good, other than the main character! Oh my gosh right about Riverdale? It's like getting weirder and weirder? I seriously don't even about that show at this point but I'm still watching lol.

    1. I think the author may have written Teddy the way she is so that we can get some serious character growth. If that makes sense? Riverdale - I feel like we are in for a surprise twist or something, like we are being set up for something. It just is so different from the first season!

  2. I keep meaning to watch more Netflix but I always forget to. I'm behind on podcasts and even messed up on the crown of a hat while listening to an audiobook. I love the Royals. I remember watching Princess Diana's wedding in the hallway of my parents' house when there was carpeting and a TV on a cart. I'll check out that book next to it.

    1. Lol! We watch too much tv, I feel like. This weather has us all trapped inside a lot though. :( We watch generally two hours of tv a night. I vaguely remember Diana's wedding - I know that my mom was tuned in to it though. :)

    2. We used to watch Project Runway during dinner but now it's either books or being on one's phone. Thanks for the well wishes. I totally dominated the couch last weekend. My little one kept coming out b/c she usually plays Roblox on the laptop but I told her she does have her own laptop now since Christmas.

    3. I am liking Nevernight more now that they're at the school. It's those footnotes, Erin. They drove me crazy with all of that extra information. I need graphic organizers for them or a glossary.

  3. It was a quick week! I didn't keep up with The Alienist either. Not sure why, maybe cause we have so many other shows to watch. Have a great week.

    1. Yeah, I am not sure why either? I think too, that it was too dark for this time of year for me. Like if I had started watching it in the fall I would have liked it better. I am so seasonal. Lol.

    1. I like him. He seems like he is like his mother, or from what I remember hearing about her as a kid. :)
