The Sunday Post/It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

I managed to get some reading done!

Read Last Week:

So. I was so excited for The Rules of Magic. I love Alice Hoffman, I loved Practical Magic. But Rules of Magic was a bit disappointing. :( Review soon.

However, I loved The Marsh King's Daughter. Wow. So so so good, I could not put it down. I am hoping to review both of these books this week!

Reading This Week:

I am not sure which one will get the nod first - both look really good!

Watching:

We are watching Phryne Fisher still - Mrs. Fisher's Murder Mysteries. We finished off Lore on Amazon Prime - it was amazing! I loved it. We plan on squeezing in some Halloween movies for Wyatt and some scarier ones or at least campy, horror movies for us this week.

Listening to:

I love podcasts! That is how I found Lore in the first place. I am also listening to Unsolved Mysteries, and Thinking Sideways. They are pretty interesting.

So, how about you? How has your week been?

  5. I just picked up Rules of Magic from my library Thursday. Sorry you didn't like it. I've seen some good reviews but all books are not for all people. Hope I fare better. I loved The Marsh King's Daughter when I read it and I know some didn't like it very much either. Hope you have a great week!

    1. I think it was just too depressing for me. :( I was super excited about it too. I am in disbelief actually that I didn't like it.

I loved The Marsh King's Daughter though! It was crazy good!

  7. I've been eyeing The Marsh King's Daughter.

As for The Rules of Magic, it was slow going for me, but then picked up near the end.

It was slow for me too - and I found it kind of sad. Sadder than I wanted. :(

  10. It's been busy here but that made the week go by faster. Today is a chillax Friday for me since my man's home. Sorry the new Hoffman was a disappointment. I'll probably not read it now.
My kids and I started watching The Fosters, about two gay mums who take in foster kids. We are hooked. My oldest digs it as she loves reading realistic fiction and has moved up to high school aged characters. My youngest closes her eyes when there's kissing, LOL.

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
