So tell me....

So tell me..how do you blog? Do you follow a routine, a schedule?

Do you write when you get a chance, fitting it in where you can?

Do you have a plan, weekly, monthly?

I've been having a rough time trying to fit it in. Right now, I am trying to blog when I can, although sometimes the only time I get is late at night when I am exhausted and so is my brain. It just wants to veg and not think about composing sentences or thoughts.

Is there food involved? Snacks? Drinks? I happen to like a glass of wine if its evening.

Also, do you take notes on the books you are asked to review? Do you wing it, write it off the cuff? I am a compose as I go girl, but I like to hear what other people's processes are.

So tell me - I really am interested!

  1. I blog when I can, and scheduling is my friend. I've been blogging every day but that's not because I'm particularly organized, lol, but with a mixture of memes and reviews it works. My Bookcover Spotlights for example don't take long because I'm not really commenting on them much, I'm just putting em up. Same with Tuesday Tagline. Top Ten of course takes forever sometimes so that makes up for the other two I guess. and my Sunday Post I put together all week, like if I see something to share I slot it in and by Friday it's usually more or less ready to go.

I often take a few notes when reading but when I finish a book I write the review right then, and a lot of times don't even look at the notes lol.

But if I wasn't scheduling ahead I'd be in trouble. :)

    1. I am reading everyone's comments and it is apparent, I need to schedule and plan. It will probably make my life much much easier, and increase the rate that I post.

I used to do Top Ten Tuesday, but phew that was a huge time commitment but a fun one!

      Thanks for sharing!

  2. I feel like if I can't prep a book post at least the day before, I get lazy and don't want to do one the day of Monday. Mondays are hard to adjust to after a relaxing weekend. I also feel sometimes I review a book well, and other times, a bit half-assed to tell you the truth. I would like to take better notes sometimes but get immersed at times that I just don't want to stop the flow. And see, I have good energy right now, commenting so long. Sometimes I'll just type out a short sentence b/c I'm tired and that's all I can handle.

    1. Haha that is how I think I review too. Sometimes I think I do a good job, others it is just kind of thrown together. I think I might do like Greg does, and write the review up after I finish, even if I am not planning on publishing it right away. I don't think I can do notes; like you, I get into the flow of the book and don't want to stop.

      Thanks for sharing your process!

  3. I blog on weekends or in the evenings, and sometimes at lunch. I have a book blog that's mostly for fun and a financial planning blog that is a (poor) attempt to make money. I used to review books as soon as I finished them, and used to review 2-4 books a week, but I've fallen off that pace--too much Candy Crush. I do schedule my posts and I'm trying to get back in the groove of book blogging regularly. One thing I realized is that when I moved my computer to a new spot I quit writing as much--it just isn't as well set up, so, since it's a laptop, I've started picking it up and moving it to a better spot when I want to work as opposed to mindlessly surf.

    1. I am a weekend and evening poster as well - it's just when I have the most time. Wow that is a really amazing pace! It is becoming clear to me that I need to schedule my time better. I do schedule so much of my life, that it makes sense to include this as well.

Hmm. A change of view. That might work too. :)

  4. I read my blog email in the morning with coffee and sometimes in the late afternoon, but not always. I try to post a weekend wrap-up on Friday or Saturday... and maybe a review during the week or just a random thoughts post. With all the reading I've been doing I don't post more than 2, 3x tops a week. I've been avoiding memes for the most part because they take a bit of commitment and deep thought :)

I blog with coffee if in the morning, but otherwise no foods were harmed in the making of my blog! Have a great weekend with the guys!

    1. I think that is going to be my goal - 2-3x for this blog, and 2x to start on my other blog. I am hoping that once I get going, I will be able to write everyday for one or the other, but that might be crazy talk! Ah morning blogging with coffee, my favorite!!! I don't get that much but I do love it.

And lol at your food comment! :) Thanks Rita!

  5. The only thing I'm consistent at is being completely inconsistent! I simply blog when I can, and unfortunately when I have way too much going on, the blog is usually what has to give. I think the only reason I still blog after all of these years is the fact that I have given myself the leeway to just do what I can when I feel the desire to do it.

    1. Lol! That is basically how I blog too. I really want to try to make it more of a priority, if only because I tend to back burner my own stuff a lot. :) I need more time for me, darn it! :)

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
