The Sunday Post/It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post
It's Monday What Are You Reading is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey - while she is on break you can share your post by tweeting with the hashtag #IMWAYR

Last Sunday I was busy with the baby shower for my sister-in-law! It was such a bright and cheery day, and I loved the pre-celebration before my niece gets here! I can't wait to meet her. She and Wyatt will only be a few months apart!

In Wyatt news, my little 2 lb 15 oz preemie has made it to 9 lbs, and he is 20 3/4 inches long! He seems so big now! He is doing so well that we no longer have to wake him at night to feed him, and can let him feed on demand overnight. We are able to get some semi-decent sleep finally! Hallelujah!

It's been so humid and rainy around here that my yard looks like a jungle! I haven't had time to do any gardening this year, but I do hope to at least plant some flowers in front soon. Our apple tree is covered in little apples as well- it is so heavily laden that some of the branches almost touch the ground.

Read Last Week:

Ice Kissed by Amanda Hocking: I enjoyed this second book in the Kanin Chronicles!

Up at Butternut Lake by Mary McNear: This was an enjoyable, light read for summer. I plan on reading the second one in the series soon.

Reading This Week:

Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen: My book club pick for the month.

Day Shift by Charlaine Harris: So far it's interesting!

Watching Right Now:

We are watching Aquarius, which is awesome, Wandering Pines which is riveting, and Orange is the New Black, which is so far ok. Lol. We are also watching So You Think Can Dance, always a summer fave of ours!

  1. So happy for you and Wyatt at reaching a "chunky monkey" stage :) That's good news about your sis-in-law's baby girl coming and Wyatt will have a built-in playmate.

I looked at your book titles with interest. Some I'd heard of, but a few I added to my wishlist now. I love the cover of Ice Kissed, and Day Shift is an awesome cover, not pretty, but draws the reader in. Hope it's a good choice. Have a great week!

  3. I'm glad that Wyatt is doing so well and that you are able to get more rest.

I really liked Lost Lake and I hope you enjoy the book and your book discussion. I want to read that Butternut Lake series sometime.

    1. Lost Lake was awesome! For me it was a reread but it seemed like a perfect choice to kick off the summer with book club. The Butternut Lake book wasn't too bad! It wasn't awesome but it was enjoyable. :)

  4. Up At Butternut Lake has a nice cover, makes me want to go up north! And we're watching Wayward Pines too- I like it a lot. I read the first book the other day cause it was cheap for KIndle, as I want to know more of the story. LOL.

    Have a fabulous week!

    1. I agree! I was just thinking how we probably won't go up north this summer and how I will miss it this year! Oh well, there is always next year and Wyatt will be old enough to enjoy it a little bit by then too.

I should read the books too! I am so curious, and I am not afraid of spoilers. Lol.

  5. I haven't read any Charlaine Harris since she finished The Southern Vampire Series. And I've been thinking of this new series. So Midnight Crossroads is on my TBR shelf.

    1. You know, Midnight Crossroads didn't do it for me but I gave the series a second chance and I really liked this second book. :)

  6. Yay so happy Wyatt is now a 'big' bubba and getting a little extra sleep must feel pretty awesome. Nice that his cousin will be close in age, they'll be great buddies. I loved Lost Lake, hope you do too.

    1. Yes, we are so excited about his weight gain and his sleeping patterns now! Lol. It's nice, he has a cousin being born so close, but also two of my close friends are having babies as well! So four babies really close in age, 2 boys and 2 girls. :)

Lost Lake was awesome, I just love Sarah Addison Allen!

  7. Glad to hear Wyatt is doing so well (and that there is more sleep involved)! It's going to be so fun for him to grow up with a cousin so close in age. Lost Lake is the perfect read for warm, summer days. Hope you enjoy it!

    1. We are pretty excited about their closeness in age. :) My cousins and I were very close in age and were great friends and companions.

I loved Lost Lake! It was a reread for me, but I enjoyed it just as much the second time around. :)

  8. Good news about Wyatt. More sleep is always a good thing.

On the book front I like the look of both Lost Lake and Day Shift!

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
