This is my first time linking up at The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post!
It's Monday What Are You Reading is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey - while she is on break you can share your post by tweeting with the hastag #IMWAYR
Things are still exhausting on the baby front - which I know will last quite a while! Now that the weather has finally shifted to something resembling spring, I have been able to get out of the house with him more. We have been going on walks and little rides and visits, enjoying the sunshine, which has been a lot nicer than just holing up in my house! I plan on going to yoga at least once this week as well, although I am sure my skill level has completely changed! Lol.
I am anxious to get back to my garden. I am definitely scaling back this year, but I am having fun planning out the new layout and deciding on plants. Hopefully I get out there soon!
Read Last Week:
Watership Down by Richard Adams: Hallelujah, I finished a book! Review to come this week, although, this is my favorite book ever and I always have a hard time writing reviews for my favorite books. Does this happen to anyone else?
Reading This Week:
The Silenced by Heather Graham: A Krewe of Hunters book from NetGalley
We are also still reading The Wind in the Willows together.
Listening to:
Yes Please by Amy Poehler: This book is hilarious!! I am almost finished listening to it.
Watching:
We started watching Wayward Pines starring Matt Dillon, who looks the same as ever! How did that happen? This show is pretty freaky honestly, and I am really enjoying it. I also didn't know that it was based on a series of books by Blake Crouch.
Posted Last Week:
Nothing here except my Monday post, but I did post on my other blog, The Magpie Mom.
I hope you get a chance to rest and to enjoy the outdoors more with your son and have fun with gardening this summer. Yoga sounds like it would definitely help with relaxing too. I'm considering taking up yoga this summer. I spend too much time sitting and I think it would reduce some of my stress and maybe help me feel more energized too.
ReplyDeleteI love the covers of those Amanda Hocking books. So pretty and eye catching. I've never read Watership Down. I do think it is harder to write reviews about books you loved and easier to write about books you didn't like as much. I think it is the same in book group--we always have more to say when we don't like a book!
Thanks Christina! I love yoga - it would definitely help with stress and your body will feel so good after stretching out, you will start to crave it, especially if you sit a lot during the day. I really recommend it!
DeleteYou are right! My book club always has so much to say when we don't like a book or even a character!
I thought I was the only one who had a difficult time writing about why I loved something rather than why I disliked something! I guess it's easier to know why something is bad than why something is good. I can imagine it can be slightly despairing to be holed up in the house with a child so I'm glad you're able to venture out :) Also 'Watership Down' is an amazing book! I'm glad you loved it as well. I hope your upcoming week is great!
ReplyDeleteMy Weekly Overview
Juli @ Universe in Words
I am glad I am not the only one! I think it's so hard; maybe because when you love something, it never seems like there are adequate enough words to describe it.
DeleteYes it is so isolating! It is really going to make a difference being able to get out and about. :)
It is nice to get out after being cooped up all winter- the weather finally seems to be We are scaling back our gardening too, but still going to try. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Michigan in the spring time! I never really used to care for spring but it has really grown on me. :)
DeleteI can't wait to get back outside in the garden!
Hi! This was my first week doing the Sunday Post too! I still have Yes Please on my TBR pile I must get around to reading it!

It cracks me up! I love Amy Poehler.
DeleteEnjoy the reads and have a good week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mystica!
DeleteGlad the weather has improved so you can get out and about with your little man and enjoy the sunshine. I love gardening, I find it so relaxing and therapeutic, except when all the bugs eat my veges! I've had 3 attempts with a chilli plant and the possums eat it each time ... who'd have thought lol.
ReplyDeleteHope you fit some more reading in. I also find it challenging to write a review of a book I completely love, I want everyone to love it as much as I do so I worry about doing it justice etc etc.
PS. You won the Wally the Warm Weather Penguin gift pack. Email me your full addie and Stephanie will get it mailed :)
Oh my gosh! I would never have suspected a possum!! Ugh I hate when bugs eat my veggies too. We actually bought praying mantis' to set free in our garden but we never see them. Lol.
DeleteI do too!
Yay!!! I am so excited!! Thanks!!
Isn't it wonderful that spring is finally here to stay? (Of course, knowing Michigan, it'll be snowing next week.) Hope the excursions are able to continue! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good week and got some reading accomplished! I loved Watership Down when I read it years and years ago. I don't reread as a rule, but I'm glad that my blogger friends can. Enjoy gardening!
