It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.
Read Last Week:
I reviewed all three of these books together - they all shared a similar premise, although they all elicited a different response from me.
The Clover House by Henriette Lazardis Power: Ah, this book had promise. Parts of it were so good! But some of it was annoying.
The Drowning House by Elizabeth Black: I didn't like this book very much at all.
Girls in Trucks by Kathy Crouch: This one I actually liked! Sarah was a bit of a lost soul, yet I felt she had good intentions.
Reading This Week:
Hell-Bent by Benjamin Lorr: I love yoga, and Jennifer at The Relentless Reader loved this book, and I like her blog, so it seemed logical that I read this book.
The Night is Watching by Heather Graham: I received this from NetGalley - I am looking forward to a book that I am pretty sure has a happy ending, after the books I read last week.
Watership Down by Richard Adams: This is my favorite book ever. I have read it so many times I could probably recite it. If I lived in the world of Farenheit 451 this would be my book. I always like to revisit this world in the spring, when the bunnies are running around the neighborhood and in my yard, although my dog Penny likes to chase them.
Girls in Trucks looks cute :) I haven't read any of those titles but they look good. It stinks though when you build up yourself for a book and it falls flat.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading this week :)

I love the cover for Girls in Trucks. Apparently, according to the author, people have requested posters of the photo, and she gets lots of inquiries about the dress. It is really cute!
DeleteI'm not familiar with the titles you read last week. I haven't read a Heather Graham in a while and I should. It has been years since I read Watership Down and that is tempting to re-read!
ReplyDeleteHave great week.

It is such a good book!
DeleteGreat reading week. I enjoyed Girls in Trucks too.
ReplyDeleteI am glad I read it last in the line up - it was nice to end on a good note. :)
DeleteWatership Down is a favorite of mine too. I spotted the bunny in the yard yesterday. She knows I have the yard with all the tasty flowers!
ReplyDeleteLol! They are such a sign of spring, I love it!
DeleteI remember crying so hard the first time I read Watership Down!
ReplyDeleteHave a fab reading week!

Omg I know, right? I sometimes skip the last few pages. Lol.
DeleteAll new to me! enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteCompetitive yoga, eh? That is totally new to me. And it seems a contradiction in terms. But maybe not?
ReplyDeleteHere's my It's Monday! What Are You Reading?.
I agree, I didn't think yoga was supposed to be competitive either! My instructor is always telling us not to compare ourselves to our classmates, that no one does the same pose the same way, and it is about where you are at that day. Lol. So the thought of it being competitive is confusing! I am looking forward to seeing what that is all about!
DeleteI love the cover of Girls in Trucks. The cover of Hell-Bent looks very painful... Can you do that? If so, WOW!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I don't think I can do that yet! Lol. It does look a little painful, I don't like the forward folds too much!
DeleteSometimes you just need a book with a happy ending. For me it was Debbie Macomber's Starting Now last week.
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!!
You really do, I totally agree.
DeleteThe Night is Watching looks like an interesting read - may have to check that out myself.
ReplyDeleteHere's What I'm Reading this week.
I think it should be pretty entertaining. :)
DeleteInteresting book lineup! I'll have to check out Girls in Trucks! Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteLol you are right, it is kind of a crazy line up!
DeleteI just ordered Watership Down a few days ago! I've never read it and I'm really looking forward to it! I sure hope you end up liking Hell-Bent...ack, the pressure! ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a fab week chica!
Lol, I have a feeling I am going to love it! I am excited you are going to read Watership Down; I am always interested in what people think of it. I think it is so amazing!
DeleteHave a great week yourself!
I read Watership Down the summer I moved across the country alone for a 10 week internship. I'll never forget reading and loving that book. I love comfy rereads.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is definitely a memorable book. :)
DeleteSorry you didn't have a great reading week last week. I hope this week's reads turn out to be great! I recognize the yoga book from Jennifer's blog. It sounds like an interesting book.
ReplyDeleteHaha... or a few weeks ago. ;)
