It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.
Read Last Week:
Yoga Bitch by Suzanne Morrison: I absolutely loved this book!! Review will be up Wednesday.
The Night is Watching by Heather Graham: This book was fun and escapist, which is good, because those are the exact reasons I pick this series up, hoping that they are.
The Homemade Pantry by Alana Chernila: I thought this book was interesting. There are a few recipes I want to try, and in fact, I am going to try one out tomorrow. I will keep you posted!
Canning for a New Generation by Lianna Krissoff: I picked this up from the library, read through it, and knew that I needed it, so I immediately bought it for my iPad.
Drinking and Tweeting and Other Brandi Blunders by Brandi Glanville: Guilty Pleasure Number One: I am addicted to the Real Housewives franchise. And Brandi is one of my faves. So I indulged in her book this weekend.
Reading This Week:
Defending Jacob by William Landay: This is our book club pick for the month. I am looking forward to reading it, the premise sounds kind of like The Mourning Hours, which I loved!
Deep Dish by Mary Kay Andrews: As soon as the springtime weather kicks in, I always turn to an Andrews book.
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare: Team Jem!
The Apple Orchard by Susan Wiggs: Because apples are the most perfect fruit.
I hope your book club enjoys Defending Jacob. It was good. Love Mary Kay Andrews. Have a great reading week.

DeleteOh my gosh, the cook books look fabulous this week :) Made a new cake today, so I'm feelin' like a chef!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely reading week!! :) What are you reading this week @ the Brunette Librarian’s Blog
I am addicted to those type of cookbooks! And cake, yum! I am a better cook than a baker, my cakes and cookies are always hit or miss. :( Lol. Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteand oh the canning book seems so apropos for all my new nieces & DIL are into that!

I know right? I want to sit at that table! But their would be probably be a lot of bees. Still a pretty thought though.
DeleteI love to make jam~ it is something I learned from my uncle. :)
Like the list of books! the home pantry book specially.
ReplyDeleteI am going to write a little review on it, after I make a few things. Tonight, I am making creme fraiche. I love cucumbers with a little vinegar on them dipped into it.
DeleteHomemade Pantry sounds good. A while ago I was looking for recipes to make pantry stuff from scratch and I didn't find many. This sounds good. Good luck with the recipes!
ReplyDeleteI read Defending Jacob and enjoyed it, but maybe not quite as much as some people.
Have a good week!
Thanks! I will probably need luck! But it will be fun to try some of these out.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Yoga Bitch sounds hilarious, and I look forward to seeing your review - It's gone straight onto my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteHaven't read any of the others on your list but I've heard great things about Defending Jacob.
Have a great week!

Omg it made me laugh so hard I cried! So funny!!
DeleteI think Defending Jacob is going to be good - I can't wait to start it!
Ooh... that Homemade Pantry looks great! I've heard great things about Defending Jacob.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty good! There are at least 15 recipes in it I want to try!
DeleteThis week's books look good! Can you forward me a link to your 'Yoga Bitch review' on Wednesday, I'm terrible at following up on these things but there's always room in my life for "awesome" books! :-)
ReplyDeleteSure! :)
DeleteI will be looking for your review of Yoga Bitch. It sounds like a fun read! I just started canning a couple of years ago and am planning on doing more this year so I am going to look into the book you featured for new ideas. Thanks for sharing! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading,
Rebecca @ The Key to the Gate
It made me laugh until I cried!I find myself canning more and more every year. And it is nice, my husband helps me so it is something we do together. :)
DeleteNice selection of books! I read Defending Jacob and the story was engaging, but I did not find any of the characters likeable. I own Homemade Pantry and really should try out a few recipes from it. And the canning book looks really interesting- that's on my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteI think I am going to make the Pancake ready-mix and creme fraiche from Homemade Pantry this week. We shall see how it turns out!
DeleteI've never watched any of the Real Housewives shows, but Drinking and Tweeting sounds like a bad idea ;) The book sounds funny though!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Brandi is a mess! And I totally think drinking and tweeting is the new drunk dial. ;)
DeleteI can't wait to read your review of Yoga Bitch, have that on my TBR list. Defending Jacob and something by Heather G is also on my list.
ReplyDeleteIt gave me the giggles, big time! It was so funny.
DeleteDeep Dish is my least favorite MKA book for some reason. I probably just wasn't in the mood for it when I read it or something. I hope you have better luck! Enjoy your week and good luck with your recipe!
ReplyDeleteI liked it. It isn't my favorite, but I liked it. :) The main character love interest guy has an English Setter, just like me! So of course I had to like him for that. Lol. And I love Top Chef, and the book plot is sort of Top Chef-ish. :)
DeleteJust finished Knots and Crosses. I am reading Haunted Ground now. Good book.
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of those! I will have to look them up!
