It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a weekly blog meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey where you list the books you read last week and the ones you hope to read this week.

Read Last Week:

Pawleys Island by Dorothea Benton Frank: This was a fun summer read, set on a southern coastal island, Pawleys Island. I enjoyed it very much, and I am planning on reading more from this author this summer.

The Magnolia League by Katie Crouch: I was really excited to read this book. I love the city of Savannah, books about magic and all that, but was really let down by some aspects of this book.

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray: The surprise book- I didn't think I would like it as much as I did! I should have my review written in the next day or two. **Finished

Currently Reading:

Phantom Evil by Heather Graham: I am obviously revisiting through books some of my favorite cities - New Orleans is in the top three of my favorite cities.

Stiltsville by Susanna Daniel: I picked this because of the cover. I saw that a bunch of people around the blogs have been reading, it, but this cover is very inviting. It would be a fantastic place to live, except maybe during a hurricane.

Arcadia Falls by Carol Goodman: I love love love Carol Goodman's books. I am drawn to the history, the mystery, the romance of old worlds and times. I am very much looking forward to this book this week.

Have a great reading week everyone, and have a safe and happy Fourth of July!

  3. Thanks for coming by my blog :D
I'm looking forward for your review of "Beauty Queens", I've been thinking on buying the book but I'm not so sure yet so maybe your review is the little push I need, hehe.
And "The Magnolia League" is a book I had my eye on too but if you say is not that good... hum... I'll have to check that then.

Enjoy your reading, and BTW, new follower :D

  4. BTW, thanks for your concern about my dog... but you know what? I took him to the vet's today and, since I live in Switzerland really close to Germany I called a friend that speaks German so we could go to a vets there and at the clinic they were like "yes, come right now, looks like he is feeling really bad" so my friend came to my house, picked us up and drove us there. And Coren- my dog- starts running!!!! Can you believe it?! I thought the veterinarian was going to kill us... Nevermind, I'm just glad he is okay now, hehe.

    More hugs,

  5. I'm in love with the Phantom Evil cover :)

  6. Alaiel I am so glad to hear that your dog is doing well - it is so hard to watch them in pain! Lol that is too funny about the vet- I am sure they are used to that happening though. I once took my cat in because I thought something was the matter with her eye, and it turned out she just had a stray hair on it. :(

  7. I have been wanting to read Stiltsville for quite some time. Have a wonderful week and enjoy your books.
    My Monday:

  8. I just finished Arcadia Falls. Stiltsville is on my wishlist.

My reading list consists of a lot of picture books read with my children, as well as the manga I've been reading with my oldest. Come see what I read.

  9. Great books on tap for this week!!! The cover for the Bray book is crazy!!

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
