It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

I took a week off of all blogging last week - I just had so much to do and no time. Summer is definitely in the wind, and we have been gravitating slowly more and more outdoors. It's nice - we sure waited long enough!

Lots of porch sitting and wine drinking happening here.

We did get a new car, so that was fun! Another Jeep, we traded in the Patriot for a Compass.  We also celebrated my dad's birthday today, which was nice, relaxed family time.

Read Last Two Weeks:

The Cottages on Silver Beach by RaeAnne Thayne: Ooo I loved this one for the mystery! Now I can't wait for the next book!!!

The French Girl: I enjoyed this book but I didn't care for most of the characters. I think though, that this actually worked well with the mystery.

The Year of Living Danishly: This was fascinating!!

Reading This Week:

I am starting this book, but I will probably read something else at the same time. :)

Watching:

The Durrells, Back in Time for Tea (YouTube rocks), Supernatural, and Riverdale. We are pretty behind on Riverdale though.

How are you guys all doing?

  1. Oh The french Girl is one I want to read, and never seem to get to. I need to move it up. I am so behind on Riverdale too. Ugh I need to binge it as soon as it hits Netflix. Did you see the promo for Cobra Kai? It's a Karate Kid follow up and you'd expect it to suck (well I would, anyway lol) but I watched the first two episodes on Youtube for free (not sure if they still are) and... it wasn't bad?? :)

Congrats on the car, I think those Compass' look nice.

    1. It was a really fast read for me. It was pretty good, although I really disliked the narrator/main character at first. LOL.

I have not seen Cobra Kai yet but my husband was telling me about it too! I can't wait to watch it! Hahaha I would probably have expected it to suck too. Lol.

      Thanks!

    1. Beautiful Exiles is so good! Some books are slow reads for me, and that is one, although I am enjoying it. :)

  5. Happy birthday to your dad and congrats on the new car! I’ve heard good things about The Year of Living Danishly. I should probably add it to my TBR list. I hope you have a great week.

    1. Thanks!

I really enjoyed Living Danishly! I often pick up those kind of books, living in other countries. Usually they make me want to immediately pack my bags and move, but Denmark...gave me pause. It was really interesting though, and eventually I decided heck yeah, I want to live in the happiest country in the world.

  6. How lovely to have a porch area to just kick back and enjoy the view. I think of Harry Potter most, yeah, during the fall to the holidays. I blast the classical music to keep my ears occupied while I read in a large font. Today wasn't my best as I was clockin' time a bit as I planned to put back in weights, crunches, and squats after the cardio warm up.

    2. Ugh I really need to work out! Lol. I used to do yoga religiously before Wyatt. I really miss it. Hopefully I will be able to work it back into my life again soon. :)

We like our little porch time. :) Our apple tree is so green and lush right now - we are in this cycle of rain and heat where everything is growing like mad. :)

Hopefully I have good things to report on the cooking front! LOl.

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
