The Sunday Post/It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date

Hey all! Hope you are all doing well! It was a pretty good week around here - I had book club, and there was even an earthquake! Very rare for Michigan. We also had some nice weather and got to get outside for a bit. We wandered our downtown area last night - they had some food trucks out and about and Wyatt ate his way through a bag full of mini-doughnuts with great joy. Lol.

This week the boy and I have a field trip coming up, to a petting farm. It should be fun! Although when they brought animals to his school Wyatt was not too excited about getting near them. So we might not actually be doing any petting. I also have an eye appt, ew. Getting old stinks. I get horrible headaches when I read on my phone too much, so I try not to do it, but I wonder if it is the phone and its horrid light or if I am squinting, so, eye exam it is.

Read Last Week:

I am stuck on Jenny Colgan. I love her. Lol.

Little Beach Street Bakery - I loved it. I can't decide which I love more, this one or The Bookshop on the Corner! I think I need her particular brand of book right now -these quaint little worlds, creative and brave characters, lovely settings, and a bit of a love story too. It's just the mood I am in I guess!

Reading This Week:

Sorry guys - I'm going through a thing here.

Watching:

We devoured Lost in Space - it was so so good and I love Parker Posey
We are also watching Supernatural, iZombie, and Victoria, which is excellent!

How about you guys? What is the happening in your world?

  1. I heard about the earthquake! We didn't have anything over here but I heard Detroit felt it! Wow scary stuff.

The Jenny Colgan books look fun.

So Lost in space was good? I watched part of episode 1 but wasn't sure... and I'm watching the Chalet on Netflix, which is a french thriller and it's pretty good!

    1. It was crazy! I was at book club and actually didn't notice (it might have been the wine..) but everyone else did! Jenny Colgan is fun and delightful.

I loved Lost in Space! I didn't see the original version, and I usually hate space stuff, so... I am not sure if that changes things. But I loved this, and Parker Posey is awesome as always.

I turned The Chalet on for about 30 seconds! It looked pretty good, but at the time I wasn't in the mood for subtitles. It does look really good!

  2. I have The Bookshop on the Corner sitting on my shelf that I've been wanting to get to. I have a feeling once I read it that I'll be going through all of Jenny Colgan's books. They sound so good!

    1. I'm really loving them. There is a similarity of premise between them all, but the characters are all pretty different, and the settings are wonderful. They are pure fun and escapism, just delightful really.

  7. I’m glad you had a good week. We’ve had earthquakes here, but they’ve never been strong enough to feel. I hope the eye exam helps the headaches. Have a great week!

    1. We don't get them often, although we do obviously get them. I think they said the center of this one was in Canada, right across the river. Thanks AJ!

  8. A petting zoo sounds fun. Goats are like broken gumball machines, gobbling up food and constantly pooping it out. We had romaine salads today and yesterday with chicken; today's chicken was breaded chicken thighs and yesterday's was roasted chicken breasts. I told the girls they can have Mickey D's tomorrow.

    1. LOL I love that description of goats!! Wyatt would be loving all the chicken, one of his favorites! And not to sound like a paranoid weirdo, but be careful with the romaine you eat right now. I saw the other day the CDC is urging people to avoid it for a bit due to some crazy big E.Coli outbreak. :(

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
