The Sunday Post/It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date!

Wow that week flew by! At this rate it will be spring before I know it. It will be nice to see color return to the world. Lol.

So, I think I totally goofed. I have a bunch of NetGalley approvals I don't think I can read! Maybe some of you can help with this ~ I have a Kindle but some of the books I have to read are just protected pdf files, and it does not seem like I can transfer them onto the Kindle? Is this correct? If that is the case, I can't read them. :( I can't sit at my computer and read, it would take me ten years to read a book like that, due to time constraints. Do any of you know, is that the only way to read it if I have a Kindle? Thanks! I keep trying to read different books and can't figure it out. Which is why I keep saying I am going to read all these books on my blog and then never do. Lol.

I have a crazy week ahead of me this week, as my son has two major appointments. I am going to stick to fun and light and cheery, as honestly I probably won't be able to concentrate on anything anyway!

Read Last Week:

Winter Storms by Elin Hilderbrand - I skipped book two in this series by accident, but no matter. Lol. I caught up pretty easily. This was a fun read, especially this week, the coldest so far this winter!

Reading This Week:

The Final Vow by Amanda Flower: Last year I read the first two books in this series (Final Tap, Final Reveille)  and really enjoyed them. I am excited to start this one, and I think it will be perfect for this week.

Posted Last Week:

Watching:

Alone, Drop Dead Diva, The Mick, Fresh Off the Boat, Sherlock, Veronica Mars, How to Get Away With Murder (soo good!!). We have been watching more television lately it seems. We tried watching Emerald City and OA, and while my husband seems to like them, I am not a fan. Emerald City visually did not interest me, and OA was blah in my opinion.

A few fun links:

My internet reading has been a bummer lately, but I have spotted these great links, making for a little more fun times.

Buy the house where Winnie-the-Pooh was written (who wants to go in on this with me! lol)

and finally this adorable photo of Flat Hat cat

  1. I had the same problem on netgalley and couldn't figure out how to transfer them to my kindle I just had to say I couldn't review because I couldn't convert them. I hope your sons appointments go well. Have a great week.

  2. I agree, I'm done with the dreariness of winter for a while. :) And as far as NG, I was wondering about that too. I have a Nook and I know you can transfer f/ Kindle but I don't know how it all works so I just ignore it. Which means I can't answer your question lol but when someone does I'll have to remember to come back and read it too!

I do want to try Veronica MArs, and I stalled out on OA after episode 5. It just seemed like it's getting super weird? But I want to finish- I hate leaving a show unfinished. Argh. :)

    1. We have an old Nook, and I was actually thinking of trying to get them onto that device instead. Lol. I know that NG has specific Download to Kindle books, that say just that, and those, I can do no problemo. Unfortunately I have a bunch that just say Download Protected PDF - and those are giving me a hard time. I wonder if you can use those, but not Kindle, and then vice versa for me?

I watched two episodes of OA lol. It was just kind of weird but at the same time, blah. I know that sounds strange. Billy likes it still; he also likes Emerald City which I just about hated.

  3. I think I have read a ElinH book before about friends and really loved it. I should pick one up again when looking for something outside of my thrillers.

    1. The Christmas ones are great! I think I read a summer one by her before as well, like a beach read, and I really liked that as well. :) She's a nice departure sometimes. :)

  4. I mostly use Edelweiss now, but you should be able to send books directly to your kindle. It should be an option when you download. You just need you kindle email (which you can find on your kindle or on your Amazon account).
You can add your Kindle device in the Reading Preference tab of your Netgalley Settings. Hope that helps!

    1. Thanks Kate! I seem to be able to do it if it says download to Kindle, but I am having trouble with the ones that say only Download Protected PDF. :( I am not sure if they are transferable? Maybe I need some sort of app on my Kindle Fire? I actually don't know if that is possible either! Lol.

  5. Ah! Beauty and the Beast trailer! I forced myself to stop watching trailers for it a while ago; they give too much away sometimes. But I'm so excited for that next month!
Light and cheerful reads are always good. ^_^ I've just started 84, Charing Cross Road, chronicling a series of letters between a book buyer in America and the employees of a bookstore in Britain over several decades. It's really fun so far.

  6. I believe, if it doesn't give you the option to directly download to your Kindle, then there is no way to do it. I've run into this a couple of times and have to submit my "review" by telling them I couldn't read it. It happens.
I'm torn about the new Beauty & The Beast movie. I want to love it, but so far I haven't loved the trailers.

    1. Ugh, that is what I am beginning to realize. :( Thanks! What a bummer.

Oh no!! Hopefully if you do see the movie, you like it more than the trailers. :)

  7. I have never run into that at NetGalley. Everything I've wanted to read downloaded to my Kindle. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  8. Is there a Help menu for you to see if you can find the answer to your question or maybe a contact email? That historic museum series sounds good; added that to my TBR.

    1. I looked but it was a little confusing. :( Emailing is a good idea though, thanks!

  9. You should be able to read the protected pdfs using Adobe Digital Editions. I'm pretty sure there is an app you can use on your devices.

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
