The Sunday Post/It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Check out the The Caffeinated Book Review for the Sunday Post
It's Monday What Are You Reading is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

We had quite a week last week. Wyatt had a few doctor's appointments that took up most of our time - being born prematurely and with his particular health issues at the time of birth, we have lots of follow up appointments and developmental meetings. But he is doing really well overall, which we are so thankful for. Everyday he does something new!

I also had technical difficulties last week with my e-reader! Both books I had planned on reading were e-books, so I didn't get to them. It was a weird week without reading - unless you count the children's picture books I read to Wyatt. :)

Reading This Week:

I am not sure! If I can figure out the problem with the e-reader or how to load the books from Netgalley onto my old Nook Color, I will read the ones I planned on reading last week. If not, I will start the book I am reading for Sheila's Banned Book Week - Fahrenheit 451. I have been wanting to reread it for a long time, and now is the perfect opportunity.

Watching:

I started The 100 and I love it! I saw that it is based on a book series, so I am sure I will be reading it very soon. We are also watching Penny Dreadful, which is amazing, and Hell on Wheels - I love the cinematography in that show. It is worth it for some of the shots.

  1. Glad your son is doing well!

Hope you get the issues with the e-reader figured out. I rely on mine for most of my reading material. I can also read on my phone with the Kindle app but it isn't as nice.

I still haven't read Fahrenheit 451! I want to though. I remember it every time October rolls around as it is usually featured prominently as a banned book. Hope you like it!

    1. Thanks Christina!

Ugh, it is so annoying, particularly as I can't replace it right now. I think I am going to have to give it up, and use the old Nook Color. I have the Kindle App on my phone but you are right, it isn't as nice.

I read Fahrenheit 451 way back in high school - it left its mark on me and I am looking forward to revisiting it.

  2. So happy your son is feeling better. And I hope you can get rid of the gremlins messing with your ereader. I read 451 so long ago, I can't even remember what it is about. Showing my age here. LOL

    1. Thanks!

Yes, it is so annoying to be without it! I am going to have to figure out how to use the old one again. Lol.

  3. Glad to hear the little guy is doing well, that's awesome. :)

Yay for The 100! The second season is even better and so much changes, when I look back at the first season it's kind of amazing how much the characters grow and change. Love that show.

    1. Yes, I love The 100! Thanks for the tip! I am only halfway through Season 1, but I am liking where it is going so far for sure!

      Thanks!

  4. So happy Wyatt is doing well, always exciting and a big relief with preemies. Hope you get your eReader sorted, I'd be lost without my kindle. Going to check out The 100, always after new series to binge watch lol. Happy reading :)

    1. Thanks! He has some challenges ahead but nothing we can't handle. :)

I miss my e-reader! I think I am going to have to give it up, and use my old one. I just have to remember how to use it! Lol.

The 100 is really good! Better than I expected, actually. :)

  5. Glad to hear Wyatt is doing well. I've been thinking of rereading Fahrenheit 451 for a while, too... think I missed the point in high school.

    1. I don't remember much about it, but one thing stuck with me - the group of people who all had a book memorized, so that it was never forgotten. I always try to think about what book I would choose to memorize.

  6. My kindle paperwhite is like an extension of me, and when I had an e-reader that broke down, I was very anxious until I got a new one, regardless that there are always emergency print books on my shelves :)

I don't think you can transfer a book from Amazon kindle to B & N nook, but maybe if you go into Netgalley and change the destination e-mail address of where the book is to be sent (for instance, not the --- ---@ kindle.com or whatever one you have now) . You can download it more than once without a problem-- I've had mess-ups where I accidentally downloaded the same title 2x in a week, and it didn't matter to them.

F 451, a very good movie and also read it in high school. Good choice. Ironic that it is banned, considering the message is that books in the future are banned and burned, ha!

    1. I know I am sad. :( I can't get a new one right now unfortunately! I think I am going to have to change my NetGalley preferences for now, until I can replace my e-reader with one that reads kindle books.

I totally agree! So very ironic!

  7. You just added a reason to my list of why to never use an e-reader. That would drive me crazy! ;) Hope all your issues this week get worked out!

    1. Thanks Julie! It does kind of make me crazy. I don't usually rely on it so heavily, but honestly lately it is easier for me to get books digitally then get to the library. Our library tore up the parking lot and is redoing it, and to go I have to park a million miles away - not the most fun while carrying a car seat, baby and library books! Lol. I generally have to wait now until I get a moment to go when someone can watch Wyatt.

  8. I'm glad your little guy's doing well!

My husband is hooked on Hell on Wheels. He binge watches while I'm blogging or when he's home alone.

I always try to post a review a day for Banned Book Week but at the rate I'm going, I don't think I'll even get one posted! I need some light books after taking seven weeks to read Shantaram. Enjoy your week!

    1. Hell on Wheels has some gorgeous long shots in it - it is just filmed so well sometimes! Very artistically.

Oh I would definitely need some light reads after something like Shantaram! You deserve it! :) Maybe if a children's banned book will work out better this year for you, just one?

I love hearing from people, don't be shy! I would love to hear what you think! I always reply back, although it takes me a bit longer these days due to the little guy.
