It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, that is guaranteed to add to your reading list.
This week, I am going to meet Christopher Moore! He is going to be at a local bookstore, doing a book signing event.
I just had the best week ever! No work, no classes, I was able to spend time doing things I haven't had time to do for a while, including some much needed spring cleaning. Who knew that could be so fun? This week is hell week - the book fair at work (that I am in charge of), followed by an obligation every night after work. Fun stuff, but I am going to be so tired! But only 30 days of this school year left, then it will be just me and my classes and whatever else I want to do.
Read Last Week:
I indulged in vacation books.
The Last Boyfriend by Nora Roberts: I saw this on the shelf and picked it up. It's been a while since I read a Nora Roberts book, and I was amazed to learn that there is real, working hotel based on this series.
The Cursed by Heather Graham: I really enjoy the Krewe of Hunters series. This one took place in Key West, and I enjoyed reading about the local legends of the island that were mentioned in this story. Review coming soon.
Reading this Week:
Since I haven't been very good about following a plan lately, here are some of the books I will be choosing from. If there is one that you think I need to read ASAP, let me know!
Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor: I can't believe I didn't read this last week!
Shotgun Lovesongs by Nickolas Butler: This one either!
Always Watching by Chevy Stevens: Still Missing got me hooked on this author.
A Place at the Table by Susan Rebecca White: This one sounds good too.

Sounds like a great week, those kind are the best. Enjoy the book signing!
ReplyDeleteShotgun Lovesongs sounds pretty good.
It was awesome!
DeleteIt is good so far - I don't know where it is going, but so far I like it. :)
Holidays are great - I have one more week before I need to be back in the classroom. I have read the trilogy by NR but never knew about the actual hotel based on it. So looking forward to reading The Beekeeper's Ball.
ReplyDeleteAnother week would have been amazing! Lol. The Beekeeper's Ball was really good. Isabel was my favorite in the Apple Orchard, so it was nice to read a whole book about her.
DeleteI meant to link the hotel to the sentence! It is just like it is described in the book. :)
Sometimes I really enjoy cleaning and then I just have to sit myself down and remind myself I am slowly but surely turning into my mother! I have been hearing amazing things about Dreams of Gods and Monsters, so I guess go for that so I can drop my your review and see whether I should read it myself :P The summer holiday is so close I can almost feel it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :) I hope you enjoy all of your books!
My Monday post
Juli @ Universe in Words
Lol! I have been so busy that my house was in ruins, so it was nice to get it back into some sort of order before someone called Hoarders tv show on me. Lol.
DeleteI can't wait for summer break! :)
Have a great week, thanks for stopping by!
Glad you had such a pleasant week! I hope this week goes well too even with all the stuff on your agenda.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the books on your list though I am eager to pick up the Laini Taylor series again. I have only read the first book which I really liked.
It should be busy but fun. (hopefully!)
DeleteI am going to start in on the Taylor book as soon as I get home tonight! :)
Sounds like it is either feast or famine with your life. Wouldn't it be nice if all the obligations could be spaced out more rather than crammed into one week? I love Nora Roberts. I also have The Cursed on my review stack. I didn't know it was part of a series. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI know right? If only some of my obligations would have been this week! :)
DeleteThe Cursed is part of the Krewe of Hunters series - they are always set somewhere different, and I enjoy reading about the different settings.
Always Watching was very good. I hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteShotgun Lovesongs looks good too.
ENJOY all your books.

Good to know!! Still Missing scared the heck out of me, and I know this book is somehow related?

I have the first of Nora Roberts' Innsboro trilogy on my phone, but I keep getting distracted by steampunk :-).
ReplyDeleteJoy's Book Blog
LOL! Maybe her next book will have a steampunk theme. :)
DeleteGreat line up of books! I enjoyed Always Watching--hope you do too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks! I am definitely getting to that one soon!
DeleteI'm glad you enjoyed your break! I've got a week like yours this week - between choir, handbells, and the annual Art & Social Studies Fair, it's going to be a crazy week. Good thing there are always books to escape to!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!! Good luck to you!! And I think you are right - I tend to read more when I am busier. I think it forces me to manage my time better, plus I need the escape!
DeleteThat sounds like the perfect week! Nora Roberts is my go-to vacation author as well. I just adore her. Good luck this week! It sounds like you might need it!
ReplyDeleteYes, that book was perfect for my time off! Thanks!
