It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, that is guaranteed to add to your reading list.
I think I am beginning to achieve a balance between work, classes, and my personal life, including this blog. I have a plan and I am going to stick to it! I also got my first assignment back in one of my classes, and was happy to have aced it!
Read Last Week:
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith: Loved this coming of age story. I found it perfect for the weather too. My review.
Waking the Dead by Heather Graham: This was another fun supernatural mystery by Graham. Review Wednesday.
Reading this Week:
Snowblind by Christopher Golden: This book just seems appropriate given the crazy winter we are having here in Michigan. We are supposed to have another polar vortex and -35 temps this week, just when I plan to read this book.
Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen: Because she is amazing and everything she writes is as well.
I loved Lost Lake! I liked reading about someplace warm at this time of year :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your good grade! That is always a relief. I miss school sometimes because I love to learn but I don't miss the stress of assignments and tests.
I am really enjoying it! I am bummed that today wasn't a snow day, I wanted to stay home and read it!
DeleteThank you! I know right? I always find the first assignment a bit nerve wracking, you never know how the professor is going to grade.
Looks like you have some great reads ahead of you! Enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI still need to read some Heather Graham books as I have heard great things about her books.
Good job on your first assignment!
Thanks! Heather Graham books are just plain fun. :) Sometimes you need books like that, to read purely for the entertainment value. And the series I am reading, Cafferty and Quinn, is really good! Maybe because they are set in New Orleans, one of my favorite cities! :)
DeleteSounds like some great reads!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am really loving Lost Lake right now!
DeleteJust what I was thinking with the weather and Snow Blind - timing is everything!
ReplyDeleteI like reading winter books in season... enjoy yours =)
I agree!! We will more than likely not have school/work tomorrow, so I plan on snuggling up with it. :)
DeleteLooks like a great week ahead. Happy reading :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI'm going to read Waking the Dead this week. :) Glad you seem to have enjoyed it! I usually like Heather Graham's books, although some of them seem to drag a bit in the middle part.
ReplyDeleteTake a look at what I'm reading this week.
Yeah, I agree with you about that. This one kind of did too. I still enjoyed it though, I love the books set in New Orleans. And they reference a volcano explosion that I need to look up!
DeleteI liked the Dodie Smith book too. Enjoy the week. The month is almost over.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness! I hope that the rest of the winter warms up a bit. I really liked I Capture the Castle!
DeleteI havent heard of these books! Will have to check them out
ReplyDeleteThis is what we are reading this week.
Leydy @OUaT & RCE
Lost Lake is amazing! Thanks for popping by!
DeleteLooking forward to Lost Lake too! It is crazy the weather we are having here in Michigan!
ReplyDeleteOmg its nuts! We live in the arctic all of a sudden!
DeleteYou read a nice variety of books. I prefer to read about warm weather when we are in the teeth of blizzards. Too much cold makes me ache for heat in the books I'm reading. Come see my Monday Report if you get a chance. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI am a very atmospheric reader lol. I feel disjointed when the weather doesn't match what I am reading. That is probably weird! Lol.
DeleteLovely books!
ReplyDeleteLost Lake is really good right now!
DeleteI'm so glad you enjoyed I Capture The Castle - I've yet to know of a person who didn't get caught up in the whimsy of it all.
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!
:-)
Bits & Bobs
Yes, it was very good!!! I holed up with it on our last snow day, it was a great way to spend the afternoon.
DeleteI'm looking forward to hearing what you thought of Waking the Dead. I have several books by Heather Graham on my reading list but haven't gotten around to starting them yet.

I like them, they are fun little quickie reads. :)
DeleteI enjoyed Snowblind, hope you do to. Here's my post for this week :) http://bakeysbookblog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/its-monday-what-are-you-reading_27.html
ReplyDeleteI am excited to read it!
DeleteBalancing a blog and real life can be tricky, no doubt about it. Glad you've found a good balance. Totally agree about Snowblind, I want to read it and this weather seems the perfect time to do so!
ReplyDeleteI think all of these snow days are helping me to catch up on stuff. ;) Lol. I am excited to read Snowblind, just got word school is canceled tomorrow!
DeleteWow you are balancing a lot at one time! Go for it!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
