I needed something quick and fun to get me over the slump! These were really well done too; the author/illustrator bases them off of her own life experiences. It makes me want to move somewhere that I can have a meadow as my yard! I don't read a lot of nonfiction either, and always try to read more of it. I think I have read more this year than any other. I usually end up reading memoir type books, travel, nature, etc. :)

Lol! I could see that!! That is my least favorite book in the series - it's an important one though darn it! The beer I had helped with the nerves though. I don't usually drink but I thought I'm at the ballpark, let's do this. I am glad I did! I don't read many graphic novels, and I was impressed by these two, especially Displacement. I've glanced at them off and on but never committed to adding them to my TBR. I'm not sure why... I love travel and art!, and the covers are so pretty! I'm glad they helped you out of your reading slump... those are the WORST! The cover of "Meadowland" is totally intriguing and I'm off to look it up on Goodreads. I'm trying to read more non-fiction (ideally, I'd like to get to one per month) and I'm always looking for recommendations!

I have all of season 2 of "Outlander" recorded on the DVR and I'm so excited to watch it -- but I really want to read "Dragonfly in Amber" first. If I don't read it before watching the show, I have a feeling I'll never get to it!Lindsayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09065930972046877154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7525935409718931244.post-29253649732384355002016-07-11T01:20:02.251-07:002016-07-11T01:20:02.251-07:00Thanks for the post - I picked it up from The Book...Thanks for the post - I picked it up from The Book Date on the IMWAYR linky.

Yay for breaking the reading drought. I also did a short graphic novel this week - a very lighthearted look at Adulthood by Sarah Scribbles and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

A Court of Mist and Fury continues to be my favourite 2016 book and SJ Maas is firmly rooted as one of my all time favourite YA authors. Last summer, we took our kids (then 4 and 6) to a Thorns game (women's soccer)--we made it through the game, but that was mostly because of sheer grit on the part of my husband and I. We're hoping to hit a couple of baseball games his summer, but we'll have to wait and see how it goes.westmetromommyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00633405262361035502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7525935409718931244.post-63703109032288957202016-07-10T20:33:47.052-07:002016-07-10T20:33:47.052-07:00I'm glad that you broke your non-reading droug...I'm glad that you broke your non-reading drought! Sometimes a little change-up makes all the difference :) I'm not really into graphic novels, but those look cute.

I also have a Court of Mist and Fury, but just have to wrap my mind around reading it now. I've been reading what I call "quieter" books this week-- Faithful by Alice Hoffman and now reading The Goodbye Quilt by Susan Wiggs-- introspective reads.

I'm also a fan of Wayward Pines and am all caught up so far.
